Here is the situation:

In February 2003, I purchased my prowler at this dealer ( Auto Market ...please read this story). My question is: If the dealer bought this car with their drug money, does the DEA or FBI has the right to confiscate my prowler? I gave them a down payment by my business check. There was no cash transaction. Should I contact my bank to see how they react???

I hope my situation is all right. Any comments and suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,

Don't tell your bank, but get the advice of a lawyer.

if they take the car you are still responsible for paying the bank no matter if you have the car or not...my kid just went through this with a crooked car dealer. Took the money instead of paying the car off. The bank held my son responsible. He went to 4 different lawyers because he had the paperwork all signed and legal, they told him he would lose in court. And guess what HE DID!!!!!

No Curtis,

The owner from Metalcrafters traded in for a Mercedes in Newport Beach and somehow it was sent to Auto Market. That's where I bought it. With the Metalcrafter logo on the side pannel, I was able to track down and met Norb. I think I will be O.K but, I will take AC advice.

I saw this on the news yesterday and they said that not all the cars there were being confiscated. They were returning some of the cars to their rightful owners. I would think that as long as YOU didn't pay for the car with drug money, you should be okay. I would make sure to contact a lawyer just in case though.

Binh... you'll be fine... you have a business to show where the funds came from. If they contact you, the DEA, then you might need a lawyer if they try and take the car, but until then, your fine, or just stash it at my house and move closer

You both are right. Two cars that were belonging to Dennis Rodman and Mike Tyson will probably go back to them. Both cars were on consignment. The DEA would of stop by and say hello to me if paid in cash. They can track where my money came from if they wanted. Also, if they go after me, then I think that they have to after all customers for the last two years. Well, maybe you can hook me up with your Harleys, Todd. I think I'll be O.K. Thanks for the comfort guys. Uhhhh, Southern Comfort that is... See you both on August 16...

Planning to spend the night at Todd's. His idea was to go over your house and raid your refrigerator...

I have experience with drug seizures through my job as a Narc Inv. and you should be okay as long as you had no prior knowlege of what was going on and you can prove where your money came from, but if it makes you feel better seek take AC's advise.

Howler - on second thought, if you are contacted, tell them the cat took a plunge off coastal highway #1, and is now in the Pacific! I though your cat smelled like meth and weed when I seen it

Absolutely, but a little warning, and puff it at your own risks...it may not contains the ingredients mentioned above.
