This is actually a serious question:

"Does the term "guys" refer specifically to "males" or generally to "everyone".

My observation is that this varies by region of the country, and I was wondering what is PC on this board.

Ladies? (and gentlemen?)

Thanks.

I use the term "guys" in general for everyone. Seems everyone in our group here in AZ does the same. Personally, I don't get hung up it ~ I don't need anyone to say "goodbye guys and gals", etc. just because I'm around. As long as I'm treated as a "fellow prowler owner", I'm a happy camper.

I'm gonna agree with Debbie for the most part....however, there are instances that I just stick with ya'll, because translated from Texan, it covers everyone.

You can call me anything, even Tami, but don't call me late for dinner.

Okay - I'm trying to decide if I should be offended here?!? LOL T

Being originally from Iowa/Illinois - we always said "guys" to include everyone. Now that we're in Texas our kids say "y'all" - guess it just depends on where you grew up. Doesn't offend me in the least. Tami (or Kendra) depends on what medications we have been taking

So the consensus is that it’s for members of each sex but just not Ed?

I guess I never thought about it before. I use "you guys" when I refer to a bunch of men or men and women. If I'm with a group of women I use "gals"..........of course....that depends on the women I'm with and then it could be........well, never mind........we'll stick with "gals"! LOL!

Okay, whealey........if Ed is not in the each sex category, what category qualifies for him?

Bringing this to the top to help Doc-Man "win" the most expensive hat in the history of POA.

-GRROWL

P.S. - We DID conclude that "guys" was not gender-specific, didn't we?
