The failure of that site, in my opinion, is unfortunate, if only because it was yet another resource for people to become more familiar with this great ride.

I'm wondering if DC would consider making THIS the "official" site of the Prowler.

CJ?

I just went to PPC site they still there, they have over 900 members and claim they are growing fast, I did not joy PPC because it take too long to process the application, I cannot wait that long. POA are much better and have more freedom to express ourselves.

"Please Allow Up To Eight Weeks For Processing
The PPC reserves the right to refuse any membership application at the sole discretion of the PPC."

Has it ever really come back??? That club was set up for the wrong reasons... $$$... I as others, never got a thing in return for the membership fees paid & many members overpaid for marked-up products which were purchased at a C/P parts Dept anyway... It is a shame because that is where I first started & got information about purchasing my Kat... Then again I still remember the tombstone stating that the Prowler's production was defiantly going to end on July 10, 2000... That did influence me to purchase my Kat, Born on July 7, 2000... Thank GOD for CJ & BOB... I remember Spoons posting a comment to unite the two sites... Looks like it happened on its own... They did not unite, the other members just came aboard & were welcomed with opened paws Good to know that we all ended up with the best site & club in the end... But I ask you... Was there ever any doubt???
Prowler owners may come & go, but the POA will ride on forever!!!

I joined the "Official Prowler Club" in December of 1999 and still check the site. It is still there and indicates it is still growing. As to money, most things end of being about money sooner or later.

It sounds like you initially hit the site when there was an application error on the server. It has apparently been reset and is again working. If it was dead, you would more likely have received a "page not found" error.

This is by far the place to be!

You think we could convince the others to put their money towards a better cause? Like this site? Their money would be far well spent.

I've looked at the other site. For information and, at least some of y'all, entertainment value, this is much more impressive.

It may not be much, but I placed my check in the mail this morning. And the best part of that was - it was voluntary.

As far as I'm concerned, this is the Official Site!

With all due respect intended.

Can we just put this behind us once again.
Granted there were/are many problems with the PPC but if it were not for the PPC initially being there, many of us would never have met and formed the friendships that we now have. For that and for the POA, I'm very thankful.

Tom Kalski bought the PPC site quite a while back and has had to deal with many if it's past problems. Tom did not cause the problems but he is now the current owner and must deal with the history and hard feelings of some towards the PPC. Let's give Tom a break and lighten up on the critism of the PPC site. I was told by Tom that he has never cashed any checks of the new members that have signed up with the PPC since he bought it. If someone can prove that statement false I will be very surprised and disappointed.

I take a totally different view of the Carnuts site though just for those who are keeping score.

There is plenty of room on the internet for everyone to have a good time and share information. Let's do just that.

History is history. Learn from the past and hope that other will learn from their mistakes also. Best wishes to the PPC under Tom's management.

This site is by far the best source of information for the Prowler and it's where I will spend my time and money to help it thrive.

Think about the knowledge you've gained, the events you've attended, and the friendships you've formed, the money you've saved and the discounts you used then send a check to the POA Fund to let them know how much you appreciate the work of the many who help to make this the best and most active Prowler site on the internet.
Send your check today!

Now I am not taking sides but, am noticing a trend.

There seems to be alot of angst over the other site because they charged members to join. While the utopian idea of a "Free" site sounds appealing, the hard reality is once it gets past the grassroots stage, it becomes improbable to run it out of your garage (so to speak). This necessitates a true hosting environment (if for nothing else to guarantee 24x7). Folks, as one who knows, this ain't cheap.
Witness the charity collection on this site of $14K (and that is ABOVE what comes from all the advertisers), just to run this site.

I know nothing about the other site now or the new owner as I joined Mike's site as soon as I found it but, it does take money to run a site (in some cases, ALOT). And for some (perhaps the owner of the other site) this might be their livelyhood too.

Just my too sense

I did not joy the PPC it not the fee or dues they charge, two things I look into are: One I have to wait up to eight weeks for get approval to be a member./ Two you cannot read what ever members post on that site. At POA you can read all the posting except you unable to post or reply, I was received a user password in a few hours after I join POA. This site is the greatest for all the KAT owner. We seem like a big family.

Thank GOD for CJ & BOB...

Hey, Mr. Bill.........don't blame ME for anything!!

Seriously, I agree with Larry's comments. As with most things in life, there are many choices and that is as it should be. The past should remain in the past and all we should be doing is looking forward. Tom Kalski, owner of the PPC has done the best he can during the time he took over. Unfortunately for Tom, (and we can all relate) he has had some personal issues to deal with such as the recent death of his father. I'm sure Tom will continue to do his best with the site.

Everyone is free to choose which (or both) clubs to belong to.......freedom of choice.........that's what makes this nation so great!

Now.........Let's Go Prowlin'!!!

CJ,
I wasn't blaming you, I was thanking you Oh wait.. there is a smiley face CJ, you & Larry are right about Tom... I spoke with him on the phone several times & he is a gentleman & scholar... I was really happy to see the site get back on it's feet in January of this year & I really had hope. It is just that the previous owner left a really bad taste in my mouth. Especially when you meet the man in person, shake his hand & look him in the eyes & just get lied to. Screw me once... shame on you... Screw me twice... Shame on me... I can sight several examples too. He did not carry the same passion for the Kat as he made it out to be...

Tom, no disrespect to you or the site was meant & as I said... If it wasn't for the PPC I probably wouldn't have the silver 2000 I have today... I have made friends from both sites... The POA was always more active instead of reactive. But I am sorry... The POA really KICKS A&&.
