We haven't posted a reminder about the availability of "Friends Certificates" for the purchase of a new DaimlerChrysler vehicle in a while, so I thought that I'd remind our Prowler friends who might be in the market for a new car that we're still ready to help them. We met a lot of new Prowler owners in Louisville and Colorado.

A super new offer has just become available. Do you have the need/use for an electric neighborhood car or golf cart? DC has extended the "Friends Program" to include GEM, Global Electric Motors cars. Their website is:
www.gemcar.com

Here are the details. You can purchase these models:

Two passenger ($6,995 MSRP) for $3,180
Four passenger ($8,995 MSRP) for $4,830
Short utility ($7,595 MSRP) for $3,712
Long utility ($8,695 MSRP) for $4,579

You will need to add freight, sales tax and any options, including color which is approximately $100. Using the Friends Certificates means that you pay less than half of MSRP.

Mike K.......................here's your chance to pick up a couple of four passenger GEM cars to ferry passengers on your museum tours!!!

ProwlerOrange.........

All Chrysler vehicles qualify for the Friends program except these:

Viper
E series minivan
Grand Cherokee Laredo Sport model

Chrysler Prowlers also qualify, but Plymouth Prowlers do not.

Here's the deal:

1% under dealer invoice (not msrp) plus a $25 administration fee. Any and all incentives that are on the vehicle at the time of purchase still apply. Ordered, in-stock or lease vehicles qualify. Dealers are not obligated to honor this program. Program runs through December 31, 2002.

If anyone is interested in a certificate number, please contact me at Only1CJ@comcast.net

CJ, I thought the Liberty use to be excluded from the program. If I understand your post, it's now included?

Thanks...Rkstr

Laddie and Mike...........

Yes, the GEM cars do qualify for the Friends and Family certificates. According to the GEM car website, here are the new prices:

Two passenger ($6,995 MSRP)
Four passenger ($8,995 MSRP)
Short utility ($7,745 MSRP)
Long utility ($8,995 MSRP)

You will need to add freight, sales tax and any options. It looks like they are no longer charging for the color.

You can go to the www.gemcar.com website and "build" your own car to see what the approximate cost will be. It looks like the long and short bed models are the only ones that have increase slightly in price.

The price using the Friends and Family certificate is 14% below MSRP on the base car and 10% off on options and accessories except the hard doors. Please contact your nearest dealer for more information and pricing.

Laddie: I understand you've already gotten a certificate number from Bob.

Mike: The GEM car website lists this dealer as the only one in your area:

Midfield Dodge, Inc. GEM 2005 Dealer!
549 Bessemer Super Hwy
Midfield AL, 35228
205-923-6343

If anyone else is interested in purchasing one of the GEM cars through the Friends and Family program, please contact us.

These are great vehicles. We have one for our cottage and use it all the time!

BTW..........In Michigan, it can be plated and driven on roads of 35mph or less. They have headlights, windshield wipers, turn signals, side mirrors and a horn.

They had one of those on the PRICE IS RIGHT and said the price was $ 7659 or something close to that. The Noon news follows Price is Right. I don't normally watch it but saw a few minutes of it today.

Any idea what invoice is on these things? I have an '02 four passenger that I've had some fun playing with (new rear fender section, 17" wheels and tires, "faux" disc brake rotors and striped like a Ferrari 360 Modena Challenge Stradale - ferrari emblems and all - I'm gonna have the whole thing painted ferrari red in the next few months), but I might be interested in an '05 or an '06 at some point if the price is really right. I like the new digital dashboard

I don't know what "invoice" on them is. You'll have to contact a dealer. If you click on the gemcar.com site, they have an option of locating a dealer closest to you.
