Anyone interested. DavidN, Cnote, Lewis E and myself plan on leaving Dallas On either afternoon Mon June 3rd or early morning Tues Jun 4th. I know I want to really enjoy the trip and take my time getting there by Wed. afternoon drag strip. Please post if this sounds interesting. We had a great Kat a van to the Grand Canyon a couple of years ago. Looks like all but DavidN will be driving their Kats with trailers.

I had thought of leaving Tuesday am. Have you figured
in your overnight or sites yet? DFW to Denver can be
driven in a day, so there is time to look around.

Joe- You're right about the one day, but 800 miles would make for a really LONG day. So, why not leave MOn afternoon drive to about Amarillo or Dalhart and then make a nice easy day of Tues as well as having time Tues for some pictures takin through Raton Pass...it's awesome. JMO

I was not going to drive it in one day. Just thought
if it can be driven in one day, taking several days
gives plenty of time to sightsee and enjoy the ride.

Hey Paul, seems we're of the same mind set. I've picked out a run from Houston to Wichita Falls for the first leg and then to Dalhart for second night and then into Westminster..

As it stands now though we're leaving on Tuesday morning early. I'm figuring about 7 hours of driving each leg with 4 hours on the last piece. Let me know if you run across some good stopping hotels on your way up. I'll have the cell phone on 713-502-2486. I'll check in with you to see where you guys stayed the night before...hehehe tell 'em we're coming..

Here is our tentative route and schedule for those of us leaving the Dallas/N. TX area.
Depart Mon. June 3 @ 12:00 Noon drive to Amarillo arrive approx. 6:00 p.m.
Depart Tues June 4 @ 9:30a.m. for Taos, NM arrive Taos approx. 3:00 p.m. Mntn time. Spend the afternoon and evening in Taos sightseeing, shopping etc... then an evening cruise to the Taos Ski Valley roads. I found several awesome B&B's in Taos, now to decide on which one to stay at.
Depart Wed. June 5 @ 9:30 a.m. for Westminster, CO. Arrive approx. 3:00 p.m. for check in at the Westin aand then off to the drag strip.
This will be an awesome drive from Raton, NM to Taos through the mountain hwys. I hope to hook up with the S. TX Kats Wed. a.m. @ I-25 & Hwy 87 in Raton, NM perfect spot to meet and then cruise into Denver area. Anyone with some ideas feel free to jump in.

OK, South Texas Chapter has adapted our route after talking to PaulR last night. We'll make Childress for Tuesday night and then head to either Dalhart or on to Raton, NM Wednesday night. Depends on how we feel driving and if we want to push on to Raton. Thursday morning we head into Westminster, CO. That's it, ain't changin' it no more!!!

Anyone wanting to join us, JUMP IN anywhere along the way!
