Here's a Sad State of Affairs for Marines:

I sat, as did millions of other Americans, and watched as our government underwent a peaceful transition of power that January day. At first I felt a swell of pride and patriotism as I watched George W. Bush take his oath of office. However, all that pride vanished as I watched William Jefferson Clinton board Air Force One for the final time. I saw 21 U.S. Marines in full dress uniform, with rifles, fire a 21-gun salute to the outgoing president. It was then that I realized how far America's military had deteriorated.

Every last one of them missed.

Ed are you an ex-marine? If so I applaud you for your service to our great country. I don't really want to get into a political debate on this forum, it's not why I come here. But, no matter your opinion of Clinton, I don't see Dubya as the knight in shining armor. The dude makes me real nervous. I can't wait until the next election so we can get somebody in there (dem, rep, or independent) that gives me a little more peace of mind.

I was not a Marine. I got drafted into the Army in 1965. I don't think Dubya is the best President we ever had, by a long shot, but at least he is not embarassing. I feel Clinton was embarassing.
