What a great picture of Dave Ridge and his car in the "My Prowler and Me" tribute. I don't know how I missed that before tonight. Outstanding! I would say that is the best photo submitted for the CD.------------------

CJ - you are definitly correct about photo opps in Colorado. I am just glad we now have a digital camera because I am afraid the cost of film and developing would break me in June!! I hope that the road up Mt. Evans is not snow covered and closed then.Marty ------------------ 2000 Black with hand painted blue faded to purple flames

Marty......not to worry. There are lots of cruising roads planned that are actually more beautiful than Mt. Evans (IMO)!! No lack for photo ops in Colorado's mountains!

CJ, that picture is so perfect it looks fake. I would think the snow will be gone by June 7th.------------------

Ed Are you kidding? That picture was taken in July last year. The Mountains have snow on 'em year round. Better bring your longjohns.------------------

Ed - Rebecca and I (foolishly) hiked up the Ten Mile Range mountains across from Copper Mountain with plans to go down the other side and have brunch in Breckinridge, then take the free county shuttle back to Copper Mountain. Once we reached the Summit at 12635 feet and started back down there was so much snow we had to turn back - this was in AUGUST. Mt. Evans, Pikes Peak and other mountains are over 14,000 ft. high. The Smokeys are just hills in comparison!!Like CJ said, snow or no snow, there will be lots of great cruises!! ------------------ 2000 Black with hand painted blue faded to purple flames

Ed......not fake. That was taken after we came down off Trail Ridge Road last year before Crazy Horse. First time I was ever in Colorado was when my parents moved there after my father retired in 1968. Bob and I had only been married 7 months. We helped them move by driving a U-Haul with their belongings and we towed my 66 Malibu behind so we had a way back home. I won't tell you about the part where my Dad was trying to direct Bob to a gas pump at a Nickerson Farms that had a roof overhang and Bob hit it and literally raised the roof, not to mention everyone who came running out of the restaurant there. Anyway, on the 4th of July, we were up in the mountains and it started to snow..hard! I made Bob get out and take pictures 'cause I figured no one would believe it!! Silly me.......a very common occurrence I found out. After living there for 14 years, we called people who were doing what I was doing..Tourists!!! LOL!

CJ, I knew it wasn't fake, but it looks so perfect it is hard to believe it is real. There were people snowboarding last year while we were in Colo, just after Deadwood, but I meant the snow would be off the roads and passable. I realize the snow is there year round on the higher elevations, especially on the north sides. I should have been more specific. I know it is cold even in August at high elevation. I have been on Pike's Peak a few times. I have never been on Mt. Evans.------------------

Thanks, Ed, for the compliment! Nancy took that picture of the Prowler and me at Ponce de Leon Park here in Punta Gorda at sunset. Would have replied sooner, but Tom & Susie Mills have been visiting us this week and we have been busy talking Prowler stuff and doing some sightseeing. Dave

Ed - that July 2001 pic of CJ's cat is real, I was parked about 50 feet behind her. Plenty of snow to see up there, but we hopefully we will not be driving through any of it. I have several pics from that spot with Pauley's, Alex's, another guy from Denver (?), CJ's, and the Alley Cat in prime cruising country.PaulR - see what you missed last year. You'll make it this time. ------------------
