From Automotive News:

Chrysler group will extend its powertrain protection plan, which provides seven-year / 100,000 mile protection at no charge. The warranty applies to any new 2001 and 2002 Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge vehicle purchased through March 31st.

Nope, probably just the opposite. You offer something free when you think it won't be used. If a car has a lot of problems, the last thing you do is offer free service. Instead there is the dance called the dealer shuffle, where they do minor things and keep slipping back in time a real diagnosis until that magic moment when they say "Whoops - you're out of waranty!". After the magic moment, the tempo of the music increases and WALLA they find what is wrong and it is going to be real expensive to fix!
