I was watching CNBC this morning at about six. There was a report about how trucks, pickups, suv's, have taken a larger share of sales then cars. They flashed to a PT and then to a gold Cat cruzin down the road. One of the commentators said "what was that?" referring to the Cat, and the other said that it was something by Chrysler and stammered for a while before being told that it was a Prowler. Is it possible that after all these years, people still dont know the car? BTW, the Cat looked pretty cool.

Don't you just hate to answer the same question over and over when they stare really close at the hood emblem or the rear bumpers that say Plymouth and Plymouth Prowler, and ask what kind of kit car is it..

Actually, I still get a kick out of people, especially the "not so young" generation, when I tell them it's a Plymouth. There is usually a look of astonishment first, then the inevitable reply - "Plymouth...really?"

Happy Prowling

I have to say it is generally the people from 30's and up that ask what the car is and where did we get the kit, all of the kids know.

I think it's kind of cool that people don't know and ask what kind of car is it. Except for those that prowler-Keith mentioned. Then I tell them, and wanna go here's your sign.
I had one old fellow come out of the dry cleaner the same time I did the other day, he saw me getting in and commented that sure is a nice buggy you got there son. Yes sir I said.
Then he says "they sure don't makem like that anymore do they". I just said. "no sir you have a nice day now" and drove off.

Two days ago, I had an older gentleman, while stopped in traffic, ask, "That's a Dodge, right?" I politely told him it was a Plymouth.

Last week, I had another older gentleman and his wife follow me to my car. He told me, "I just wanted to look at your Prowler." He drooled all over it as I put the top down and let him look at it while answering his questions.

Also, I was parked across from the patio while at lunch last week. When I parked and got out of the car, my girlfriend who was already seated on the patio, overheard the people talking. An older woman told one of her friends that it was a Dodge. Another youger couple just stared at me as I walked up to join my girlfriend and didn't say anything except for, "Daaaaayyyuum". As I left, I heard someone yell, "Wow, look at that guy's awesome car!" (I also wanted to add that I parked in front of a new Lexus SC430, a very sweet looking car. While my car was parked in front of it, no passersby even looked at the Lexus as they walked by, but almost everybody stopped to look at the Prowler.)

I find mostly from the older crowd that they either don't know what is or know everything about the car. The younger people, tend to know more about the car. The kids generally just simply scream, "Holy $hit!! It's a Prowler!"

I still have people ask what it is. Most kids know what it is.

I have it called a Viper, PT Cruiser, What is that, is it a kit.

After almost 5 years without advertising it is finally being in print just as they are cancelling it.

My two favorites in reverse order.

While at a car show in ocean city my wife and I rode over to a little restaurant for lunch. When we came out a 60'ish gentleman got out of am immaculately restored 1968 Cadillac, walked over to me and said "Young man I just want you to know that I appreciate the work you must have put in to building that beautiful car."

The all time favorite was during a trip through skyline drive a man from Holland, after staring for 10 minutes at the Prowler, walked over to me and said, "what is it and how many hundred thousand American dollars did you pay to have it built?"

INCREDIBLE!

I`ve only had my Woodward since early September, but when I showed up at work the first time, my boss asked me how I could afford a Lamborgini. It has to make you laugh.

I park at the edge of the parking lot at work. There is a berm from the road to the parking lot to the road. Today I saw an older fellow drive off the road (had a 4-wheeler), up the berm over the curb and into the parking lot where he stopped in front of the kat, stared out the side window a minute or two, and then drove off.

Tonight at the gas station a lady walked by as I was pumping and simply said - It's beautiful!

A pick-me-up pulled in as I was finishing pumping. I went in to get my refund as the young driver went in to put down his deposit (it's pay before pump in calif.) When I came out his even younger passenger was orbiting the kat like one of those solar system models we had in high school!
