Angelle & Tony are in from Socal visiting for the Holidays. I've had to cook a couple of Gumbos & today we did a Cajun Fried Turkey for Tony. Here's a few pics...

Injecting the seasoning... No drugs...

Tony & me lowering the turkey into 370 degree peanut oil.

Watching out for the boiling oil spilling over the side of pot (water & oil don't mix).

Turkey submerged in pot & now 3&1/2 minutes per lb (this is 14 lb turkey).

50 minutes later turkey is done.

Now turkey is ready for table - let set 30 minutes & than carve & eat...

Laddie, I had deep fried turkey at Thanksgiving last year for the first time. UNBELIEVABLE.
One tip, I would take your pot back for warranty work, it looks like you have an oil leak!
If the wings and drum sticks get over cooked, remove them before putting the bird in the pot, as they tend to over cook.

We deep fry a Turkey every Thanksgiving along with a convential. The Deep Fried is always the favorite. We also did one for Christmas.
Laddie I agree with Ed, looks like you have a leak. That is allot of oil on the ground.

Went to a neighbor's for New Years Eve and would you believe they were cooking deep fried turkey. We even got to help since it was their first time and after seeing the pics, we knew just what to do. The meat is just great - wonderful flavor, so tender and juicy, too.

After the turkey came out of the oil we deep fried about 30 flautas (rolled tacos - for you easterners). They were great.
