Broken Arrow, Oklahoma School officials remove "God Bless America" signs from schools in fear that someone might be offended.

Channel 12 News in Long Island, New York, orders flags removed from the newsroom and red, white, and blue ribbons removed from the lapels of reporters. Why? Management did not want to appear biased and felt that our nations flag might give the appearance that "they lean one way or another".

Berkeley, California bans U.S. Flags from being displayed on city fire trucks because they didn't want to offend anyone in the community.

In an "act of tolerance" the head of the public library at Florida Gulf Coast University ordered all "Proud to be an American" signs removed so as to not offend international students.

I, for one, am quite disturbed by these actions of so-called American citizens; and I am tired of this nation worrying about whether or not we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on September 11, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Americans. However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled in New York and Washington D.C. when the "politically correct" crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others.

I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to America. In fact, our country's population is almost entirely comprised of descendants of immigrants;
however, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some native Americans, need to understand.

First of all, it is not our responsibility to continually try not to offend you in any way. This idea of America being a multi-cultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Americans, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language, and our own lifestyle. This culture, called the "American Way" has been developed over centuries of struggles, trials, and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom. Our forefathers fought, bled, and died at places such as Bunker Hill, Antietam, San Juan, Iwo Jima, Normandy, Korea, Vietnam, and the Persian Gulf, for our way of life.

We speak English, not Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society - learn our language!

"In God We Trust" is our national motto. This is not some off-the-wall, Christian, Right Wing, political slogan - it is our national motto. It is engraved in stone in the House of Representatives in our Capitol and it is printed on our currency. We adopted this motto because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation; and this is clearly documented throughout our history. If it is appropriate for our motto to be inscribed in the halls of our highest level of Government, then it is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools.

God is in our pledge, our National Anthem, nearly every patriotic song, and in our founding documents. We honor His birth, death, and resurrection as holidays, and we turn to Him in prayer in times of crisis. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture and we are proud to have Him.

We are proud of our heritage and those who have so honorably defended our freedoms. We celebrate Independence Day, Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and Flag Day. We have parades, picnics, and barbecues where we proudly wave our flag. As an American, I have the right to wave my flag, sing my national
anthem, quote my national motto, and cite my pledge whenever and wherever I choose. If the Stars and Stripes offend you, or you don't like Uncle Sam, then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet.

The American culture is our way of life, our heritage, and we are proud of it. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. We are Americans, like it or not, this is our country, our land, and our lifestyle.

Our First Amendment gives every citizen the right to express his opinion about our government, culture, or society, and we will allow you every opportunity to do so. But once you are done complaining, whining, and
griping about our flag, our pledge, our national motto, or our way of life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great American freedom, the right to leave.

Right on! Thanks for expressing what 99.999% of Americans think. We hear from the .001%; and unfortunately listen to and comply with their whining.

We are in this spot because of the "quiet majority", and "vocal minority".

If more people verbalize - like you just did - maybe we can reverse these dumb demands.

As a proud American, I totally agree. For any citizen, native or otherwise, who lives in this country because of the freedoms and opportunities it affords, don't agree or are offended by our nation's convictions, then find a country that better suits your needs........and good luck finding one.

Mike myself being a Canadian reading your post makes me feel like yourself, My dad's mom's family we're some of the first pioneer's that sailed over into the US so I have a lot of relatives down in the states and I'm trying to find out through them to see if I have lost any of them on Sept 11th. To read that some have taken these drastic measure's as to not affend some when they really have offended the entire country with their choice to do these things and CL's comment also hits the nail on the head also "if anyone who feels they can find a better place to live go there"

I will add this to that part from a person proud of where I came from and where I live now

Well said Mike. I had a tee shirt once that said :Welcome to America, now speak English. When my country called me in 67 to serve, I went without asking and was surprised to get comments about being brave and why didn't I go north? I never even thought about that and figured it was my duty as an American citizen to do my part. I'm glad to see the younger kids following with the same spirit as the enlisting offices have more volunteers then they've had in years. I've never been very religious, but find no problem with the "In God we trust" motto. Time to close the borders and carry sidearms and let the laws of natural selection thin the herd.

I must agree with all of you.

I have travelled the world like many of you and found no other country that allows an individual the freedom to:

voice his or her opinions, or not
become an educated and intelligent person, or not
follow whatever religious beliefs you choose, or not
follow any career path or job preference you choose
be as wealthy as you like, or not
voluntarily serve your country, or not
read any kind of literature you like, or not
write any kind of literature you desire, or not
choose whom you marry, or not
choose where you desire to live
watch and listen to whatever television channel or radio station you desire, or not
wear the clothes you wish
speak with whom you desire, or not
start and build your own business
change the government and its leaders if you don't like them or their policies, without force mind you
DRIVE the kind of AUTOMOBILE you love and stop anywhere your heart desires.

These freedoms, in one way or another, do not exist in other countries around the world.

For those people out there who don't like all of the flag waving and such, I agree with Mike and the other individuals. Move to some other country. I know of millions of other individuals around the world who would line up to have your job, home and freedoms. I also now of at least one country that currently has thousands of vacant homes just waiting for new tenants with a government that is just waiting to torment you, abuse you and take away all of the freedoms that others have died to give to you, your family, friends and neighbors. In fact, many of my friends would gladly donate money to help move you and your family somewhere else in the world. That way you would not have to be bothered or offended by all of the RED, WHITE AND BLUE colors.

No other country in the world gives away more money to fight starvation, cure sick people, rebuild roads and towns, help orphans, decrease infant mortality, increase the life expectancy of adults and children and educate people.

The United States of America is one of the few countries that sends its own children in harms way every day of the year to help promote and give these writes to people around the world, and to protect them for ourselves.

No other country in the world can say that they can even compete with the generosity of Americans. Why is it that the Stars and Stripes is virtually the only flag to be burned by other people around the world? Because this great flag is more to us than just cloth and ink. Because the symbols that make it up are not just an animal or picture. They are the representation of the blood that Americans of lost in defense of these freedoms. The sweat from hard work building and defending such a great land of ours. And the tears of Mothers, Fathers, Friends, Family and other Americans who have lost someone special in the fight to keep these freedoms.

We Americans do make mistakes, but we are only human. We do not claim to be anyones saviour or god. We have definitely made some big ones during our history. But we have learned from them and become a stronger and more generous society. People around the world fear our country, not because we have a strong will and military. Because they are afraid that if our ideas and freedoms reach to their part of the world, they will lose their power, riches and control of their followers. They know this and so do their followers. People around the world may not want to be an American, but they do want to have our freedoms and rights.

The ACLU and Americans Union have both gone too far. The time for being poltically correct has ended. If American Flag or patriotism offends you, get the hell out of Dodge.
Mike and others, thanks for your comments. I am with you 100%

It puts tears to my eyes to know that some people would go to such extremes. Even though I was born in Puerto Rico, the flag of the United States of America flies outside my home. And not only because of the Sept 11 events but because I am very proud and thankfull of the opportunity of living in this great nation. I would not trade any of the good or the bad. And it pisses me off that some people think that just because they live here they do not have to be thankfull and greatfull to be here. Like Andrew Howard says, our predecesors fought hard for our liberties and yes, our believe in God in anyway or form. We do believe in God and our flag is not just a piece of cloth, it represents all our freedoms and our way of life. I love this country and proud to display my love. Show your love!

WELL SAID MIKE!

I'm an asian american in the states for over 40 years and
there are not enough words that can fully express my gratitude for the freedom and liberties that this great
land affords us. Those who are offended by something so
righteous do not belong here!

GOD BLESS AMERICA, HOME OF THE BRAVE, LAND OF THE FREE.

Mike & Andrew---Absolutely Outstanding!!!!!!!!

A copy of your post's should go to every newspapeer in the country! In all the year's I've been kicking around this country (and a few others) I've never been able to understand this political correctness and desire on the behalf of some to trash the freedoms which we all enjoy in this great country of ours. To those fools & idiot's who don't like it here---don't like what the USA stands for--or the way it is run-- I can only say -- LEAVE--GET THE HELL OUT!!! You can always go somewhere else and try spouting your garbage and see how long that country's government let's you get away with your crap!
