MEMO TO SPECIAL FRIENDS

Wewould like to ask each of you to help us contact family and friends. Everyonewants an update on the status of Phill’s Health. He will be going into surgeryto begin a Research Program. They willneed to remove a sample of the tumor. In the lab, they will divide up the cancer cells and treat them with agene vaccine. Once it proves to kill the cancer cells in the lab (this willtake 30 days) they will inject him with the vaccine combined with the treatedcancer cells every other week for 12-24 weeks. (depending on how much tumorthey are able to obtain in surgery). The body should accept the vaccine, as itis also a part of his tumor and tell the body to kill off the remaining cancercells. Based on the theory of the fluvaccine. This is a very new program, only developed since June 2001 but has hadtremendous results. We should know if it is taking effect within 6-8 weeksafter taking the vaccine. The vaccine is called G-VAX.

Atthis point, Dr. Denham has recommended he be taken off of the present ChemoTherapy (Carboplatin and Gymzar), as he is not making any progress. He couldtry another Chemo (Taxotere), which would give him a 20% chance of holding thetumor stable but not reducing it any. The side effects are different from thebattle he has already been through. Phill is just not sure he is ready for moreside effects.

Thedown side is going through surgery, as Phill has to be strong enough andovercome the surgery. The incision will be 6-7 inches under ribs on right sideof chest. But the up side is that there are very few side effects with thevaccine, compared to Chemo Therapy.

The love you share is always special. Pleaserequest more prayers that the Lord lead us the right direction for the miracleof healing. It will be a hard and tough journey to overcome surgery. We are so grateful for such wonderfulsupport from family and friends.
