Yesterday I went to another dealership to pick up my new Blk Pt Ltd. They had just recieved a new 2002 Gold Kat. They had been waiting for 3yrs to get one at their dealership. They never put up any ropes around it and let everyone look and touch it for 3 days never thinking anything would happen to it well 2 really bad scratches later and 1 thousand sticky finger prints they put up a border around it. One really good one about 2 1/2 inches long right through the pin stripping on the top right side of the deck lid, the other on the drivers door it's about 2 inches and deep. They didn't seem to think it was a really big deal to fix it until I told them it was a hand painted pinstripe not a decal like they thought it was.

Now here's the capper while I was waiting for them to get my PT ready I was really checking out the Kat and this young nice looking sales girl about 24 yrs old came over and asked me if I was interested in putting in a bid for it, the top bid right now is 69k can about 45k us I told her no I didn;t like the colour and I have a red one already. She got all excited and told me she had seen it going by not long ago, now she starts begging me to come by and give her a ride, and admitted it was by far a better colour than the gold. Now AC I know she's kind of old for you but I need your advise on this one?????? LOL also I gave them the web site address for the POA to give to the new owner when it's sold hope he joins because these guys at that dealership have never had anything to do with a kat so he'll be needing help I'm sure.

What color stripe is on the golds? I'm not crazy about the color either, but I've not seen one in person, and well, I'm partial to BLUE.

Mike one is sort of a real baby -hit darker colour and I forget what the other one was (light greeen??)did not impress me in the least. Mind you it was a pretty nice job of pinstripping though I did give it a good look over, and it also had a bad paint flaw on the middle of the deck lid the paint was sagging quite a bit, about the size of the base of a coffee cup

They have a two color stripe. Yellow and a different shade of gold, if my memory is correct.

The gold looks good in the sun and grows on you. I didn't like it at 1st but after seeing Jerry drive the 2002 he had at Crazy Horse I thought it looked good. I would not have picked this shade of Gold but they didn't ask my opinion. I also would have used a cream color stripe on the gold instead of yellow.

Unlike Wildcat, the gold has not grown on me. I saw it at Crazy Horse, didn't like it then and still don't. I guess that's why they make different colors, ya can't please everyone.

I think this bid crap is just that and is a dealer ploy they all use. I was given the same song and dance before I was ready to buy. Former Prowler Owner, Marty went in and laid down 40K cash on the same car and they sold to him. I wonder what happen to the top bid they had of $65K on this 99 Purple? I suspect it never existed. By the way Marty totaled the Kat and Kat Trailer about 6 months later. Never replaced it. Give me a break, if they had a serious bid of 69K they would take it, especially when car sales are so soft.

Rich, that is ONLY $ 45 K in American money. Not a good deal, but not horrible. You can put me down as two thumbs down on the gold color. I had waited until I saw it in person to make up my mind. It didn't take long to make that decision, about 1 second. When we pulled into the Motel parking lot on the journey to Deadwood it was sitting out front. It is UGGGGGLLLLY. JOMO, Sorry new gold owners.

Ed - I gave your phone # to one former WFW gal who wanted a guy with little hair. She may whup on you!

Wildcat - wasn't the yellow/gold stripe on all the new gold cats? Dealer here is showing it as a dealer installed option, at $500 add-on. Those dealer don't get it and wonder why they blow so many buyers right out the door!

Keith, your experience at the dealership was probably typical from what everyone else has said. They don't understand class cars. They let them get damaged, but price them too high. I must say Liberty motors in Rapid City, SD is an exception--they have good sense.

The gold so far has come close but missed. Maybe it should be a deeper color and more metallic, and Larry Mayes is right--the yellow pin stripe sucks and cream would be a good choice. And for the skirt chasers, old, young or unemployed, keep in mind that that the Prowler is truly a chick magnet, but whatever color Kat you have BEWARE OF THE GOLD DIGGERS. They are way more expensive than you could imagine.

Ed with our Canuck Blubber Buck at 1.57 to 1 US $ it works out to 47k now that's getting up there pretty good I hope they get it because it gives me a better chance to get more for mine if I sell it. These guy's had to wait 3 yrs plus for DC to give them a Kat out here, so the supply is not like down in the states and the buyers are still around.
There's a 99 purple about 1 1/2 hrs from me at a dealership on consignment for 68k it has 4000 klm's that's about 2500 miles, they have an offer he told me of 62k but won't come below 65k. The guy who owns it paid 90k for it when he bought it from them new they are the worst rip off artist's I've come across so far.

Donny thanks for those words of wisdom I knew AC couldn't give me any good advise right now seeing as his neck is swollen up like a rutting buck in heat right now LOL.

I suppose if its too late for my advice to pay attention to how much what you're getting into could cost you, all I can say is to come and go away as fast as you can. Best wishes-
