ed monahan Prowler Junkie Posts: 33595 From: Cincinnati, OH Registered: JUL 2000	posted 09-17-2001 01:05 PM An article in the SCD (Sports Collectors Digest) states that starting Sept 27th and running thru October, there will be a lot of Indy 500 memorabilia on eBay, including an autograph of Ray Harroun, the first winner of the 500, a 1969 checkered flag with several driver's signatures, etc. It is the collection of the late Ray Pohn, a USAC official. It will also be on BestCollectors.com. Other autographs are from AJ Foyt, Bettewnhausen, Andretti and a lot of original photos and negatives, officials' arm bands, press credentials, badges, etc.

I started listening to the 500 in 1954, and have all taped since the invention of the VCR. Open wheel racing has always been my favorite - wheel to wheel at over 200 mph takes huge balls. besides: Real race cars don't have hoods, trunks, windows, fenders, lug nuts, and mechanics named Jim Bob. JMO ------------------ Call 911 - there is a Prowler in my garage....
