I just saw on Sportcenter that Alex Zanardi lost both legs in a horrific accident during a CART race today. Zanardi's car was almost stopped and then hit broadside by another at about 200 MPH after he lost control of his car while entering the track from pit road and slid up onto the racing surface. He is expected to survive. ------------------ |

What a tragedy (another). Such a great driver, husband, CART Champion, spokesperson, and truly an acceptional person with a great smile, will be missed in open wheel racing. I being a avid CART fan and a former Target/Ganassi Racing Team follower, was really sickened to hear the news. Alex's talents and personality will be sorely missed in the racing world. I can only hope that Mo Nunn Racing or Pioneer Electronics will find some meaningfull employment for Alex in the future, as I feel he will still have much to offer the racing community. ------------------ |

Watched the race on ESPN today,,,,,,it was a sick site to see. Alex is lucky to have lived through it. The CART medical team saved his life. It was good that they went to Germany for this race, and were there for him. |
