Excuse me while I vent. I was driving the Kat to work this morning and my windshield met a rock up close and personal. I have an appointment to have the windshield replaced on Monday at a cost of $527. Is this the going rate? anybody get a new windshield installed at a better price? Thanks, -Tom------------------

Tom,My glass guy (Bill Riley at Auto Glass America, Riverside) says $600.00 but he will use only OEM windshields (he has it in stock)for the Prowlers. He seemed very firm on using OEM only and said the job would take about 2 hours. He has replaced 2 so far. Luckily none for me! I hope this helps you. Have you checked with your insurance company yet? Have had several windshields replaced on different vehicles for rock damage over the years. Most insurance companies do this as a normal service with out it reflecting as a damage claim. ------------------ Jim

Hey Jim S- Yea I checked with my insurance and they will attempt a repair at no cost to me. If I am not satisfied with the repair than I will have to replace the glass with a $500 deductible. The damage is a bullseye slightly smaller than a quarter and there is displaced glass missing at the impact point. It will take a miracle for this to be successfully repaired I think.Hey Prowler24-Here a photo of the Vette. Any photo can't do the paint job justice though. You have to meet the paint in person and climb into it. It's kinda like a candy-apple-plum.
