Could someone please tell me what the difference between a salvaged and R title is? I'm looking at a 95 Viper with a salvaged title and am unsure what to do about its salvaged title.

Thanks,
Daryl

A "salvage" title is just that. It means an insurance company had the car at some time, either from a wreck, theft etc... and could not aquire the original title when the vehicle went to auction. A "R" title is a rebuilders title and I think by that you understand that the car has definately been rebuilt from a wreck. vehicles with these titles will never bring full value of the car if resold. if you're thinking of buying it, make sure you get at least 10 to 15 % off the price of the same make with a real title.

Salvage title means that the repairs exceeded the percentage acceptable for the insurance company to have it fixed, Rebuilder in most cases means severe frame damage. Please take a big step back and if you want the car do take the expense of taking it to a frame shop (body shop) to have it checked, there is no warranty . Buyer Beware
