Got an email from a company that is offering to install an electric generator for free if they get to keep the generator on my property to access the grid and sell electricity to the power company. Any electricity I use is free (up to 26,000 kilowatts a year).

Here is the url that was sent to me for information regarding the program:
http://elec4u.2w1.net/Offer.htm

Sounds too good to be true and you know what they say about that...

Sounds like a crock to me. If you could make a device that manufactured more energy then used, all power supply probs woulds be solved.
CJ, I hit for 16k on a pyramid scam. Got my initial investment back in 2 days (1k) and took a month to collect the rest. I was lucky.

I sent the following message to this company. I'll post a reply if they reply.

I'm a mechanical engineer, and I have done motor design - Where does the energy come from to power the motor? You say it has permanent magnets - so do lots of others motors, BUT they also require electrical power for the rotor. OR if the Rotor is a permanent magnet, then the field windings require electrical power.

You are missing something in your Q&A answers about where the power comes from to power this motor, often it is wind power, or solar power, but you don't mention where your motor power comes from. Your article don't make sense. Please explain to me by reply email.

Sounds like the old story about one of those automobile carburaters that gets 100 miles per gallon, but the oil companies bought the patent and won't let anyone build them.

Seeeeeee - thats why I ask you guys these things!!!

I found a FAQ page too at:
http://elec4u.2w1.net/FreeElecQA.htm

And their home page at:
http://www.innovativetechsolutions.com/

And a status update page at:
http://www.innovativetechsolutions.com/StatusUpdate.htm

Where in part they say

quote:

The Tornado Engine (same inventor as the Bio Mass engine modification) is a brand new engine design. The demonstration engine was small, about the size of a four cylinder gas engine. But it produces an incredible 1600 horse power. It uses a small amount of fuel (about the amount used by two cylinders of a old Volkswagen Beetle engine) to heat up the reaction chamber and to create a tornado in the engine. Once the tornado is formed (less than a minute), the replace the fuel with a water mist. The tornado tears the water molecule into the oxygen and hydrogen components and then burns that mixture. The engine puts steam out which is then cooled and released into the atmosphere. The demo model of the engine is powerful enough to drive a 500 kw version of the Sundance generator. Smaller versions of the engine could power a car and somewhat larger versions could power trains and airplanes.

Thanks for all your input on this everyone!

Is that offer only good in California? That is probably the only place there is a demand. What did PT Barnum say?

Okay - remember I said I registered but DID NOT send any money? Well, here is the certificate and a business card I got in the mail. It is in PDF format so you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader (free program if you don't already have it) to view it.

It is about 2.5 megabytes - sorry for the huge file size but I wanted to preserve as much clarity so it would be easier to read.

I am still leery but I have not put any money into it and if it comes out good then all the better - if it is a scam then I am out nothing!

Well, the certificate looks non threatning. If this is on the up and up, how come the news media hasn't jumped on it?
An invention of this magnitude would be revolutionary.

Thats my question. Another question I have is - why don't they just build 10 or 20 units, install them in Calif. and let the news media in on it? They would have more business than what they would know what to do with.

The only thing I can think of is that for them to be profitible (due to building cost, installation cost, development cost) they have to have a minimum number of units to make their money back and they are trying to get those commitments before they start the program.

Cliff, what does the BBB say?
The litmus test has always been, if it is too good to be true, it is probably a scam.

This is the reply to the email I sent them. I'm not buying their explanation, nor am I going to send the $5 they ask for. This is a 'mirrors & smoke' SCAM.

Nelson,
Thank you for your interest. I'm sorry the
explanations didn't make sense to you. I'm not an
engineer so my explanations are targeted to the
layman.

The answer to your question is that the Humingbird
motor is powered by batteries. The Hummingbird motor
drives the Sundance generator. We take some of the
power from the generator to keep the batteries
charged. In 1999, we demonstrated the Hummingbird
motor in 45 citites as being 500% efficient. Thousands
of people saw these demonstrations and hundreds of
people tested our restults with their own instruments.
In the summer of 2000 we demonstrated the Hummingbird
as 4000% efficient (see the real player video on the
web site). I realize that this will be very hard for
you to accept. We are not claiming to have overcome
the laws of conservation of energy. We are saying that
we've figured out a way to finess the powerful rare
earth magents to make them do work and to get a lot of
power from them. I can't go into technical details
about the design because the information is
proprietary at this time. If you will check the Q&A
page, http://elec4u.2w1.net/FreeElecQA.htm, you will
see some article and patents on similar motors.

In the 2001 tour, which has just begun, we are
demonstrating the Sundance generator as being at least
100% efficeint (equally hard to believe I'm sure). But
I would invite you to come to one of the shows near
you, http://elec4u.2w1.net/2001tour.htm, to measure
our results with your own instruments.

Best wishes,

Dennis Sytles

Nelson - thanks for checking into this. I will have to check the BBB too. Remember - I DID NOT send them any money and I received that certficate that I posted above.

Even if they do say the technology is available and they install something at my house - I have a month before I have to pay anything (I think it was $500) to make sure it is working correctly and that I want to keep it installed.

Usually scams insist on money up front - that is what is so confusing about this.

Thanks again - it helps to have input from an engineer who understands this stuff.

Reminds me of my grandfather, bless his heart. Not much education but he could fix anything. He often said he knew how to make a perpetual motion machine--if only he had the time to figure out the details.
