Night Prowler, I have to say thank you.-I think. I wasn't familar with the Sequoia and was checking it out at the car buyers .com site. I happened to do a comparison with my present car a 99 Grand Cherokee and found a list of problems with it ( my Jeep) as long as anything I've seen! I passed on a "Friends Program" certificate offered by CJ when my Jeep salesman reneged on the deal offered to absorb the remaining months of my lease if I purchase a new Jeep.(imagine that!) It seems this was a blessing in disguise! There have been a multitude of problems with the cars listed on the site, but especially with the brakes. Some have replaced brakes and rotors 3 times with 24 k on the car. This is my 4th Jeep and bought on blind faith as I had great luck with the previous 3 I've had. This is my first lease. I've driven all my cars very hard and so far this has been pretty good to me. (other then the front diff replacement, reprogram the key fobs every 6 months, outside mirror control repair, AC sensor replacement)-but not too bad. Now I have a pulsing in the brakes that just started with just under 23 k on the car and 6 months left on the lease! Not sure what to do-take the loss and dump it, or ride it out as I have been luckier then some, as some have had no problem at all. One thing for sure, I will be looking at other brands for future purchase.
There are some other issues with the car that I've become used to and accepted-driveshaft clunk when accelerating from a stop, and a clunking noise over bumps-both of which the dealer couldnt fix and didn't say there was a problem with.
This was also mentioned many times as an owner complaint. Why hasn't DC acknowledged the brake issue? CJ, not to put you on the spot, but this seems like a major design flaw. Comments guys?
