(AP) - A 15-year-old boy who had been picked on and had talked about shooting classmates allegedly opened fire in a high school bathroom Monday, killing two people and wounding 13 in the nation's deadliest school attack since Columbine. One student said the boy had a smile on his face as he fired away with a pistol at Santana High School in this middle-class San Diego suburb.

Had to go by this tonight, streets still blocked off, TV trucks everywhere, a very sad day thinking that there will be two kids not going to school tomorrow.

100 people were gathering around the growing Mountain of flower and photos in front of the school.

Tomorrow I will be in the area again and will stop by with some flowers from all of us from ProwlerOnline. With tears in my eyes and a heavy heart I hope this will be the last of the senseless shootings at one of our schools.

My prayers to out to the family's of their lost children and to the friends of the victims that will never see their classmates again.

I can only think one thing about all this and this is what the BIBLE has to say;

"FATHER FORGIVE THEM, FOR THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO!

I can't imagine how the parents of the slain children feel right now. My prayers go to them, the victims and their families, any kid in the world who teases another with bad intent, the shooter and his family.

As a parent you try to instill values in your children to help them make good decisions to life's tempting alternatives. Hopefully kids do the right thing-whatever that is. But todays drive-by shootings with errant bullets hitting innocent 3 years olds playing in their yards, and shootings at high schools/grammar schools (remember the Georgia grammar school shooting) have become my greatest fear because it is impossible to stop the anger and the randomness of the event. And its going to happen again. God, please prove me wrong.

This was big news in Chicago so I thought I would pass it on. About 2 months ago at the public high school near my home a high school student had a "hit list" with 25 names on it. Fortunately another student told the authorites about the list. The school called the police who immediately detained the offender, and then raided the student's locker and found the list and a gun.

This is just one more tragic event. My sons are grown adults, but I have two grandsons, one in second grade, that I worry about. I can't imagine losing them in a situation like this.

My question is: Where are the parents of the children that commit these crimes? Why are they not more involved in their children's lives and more aware of what their children are doing? How are these children obtaining these weapons and hiding them in their homes without the parents knowing?

We, as a society, have to find a way to stop these bloodbaths. As parents, we need to start paying far more attention to our children and what is going on in their lives.

CJ, where are the parents you ask? Both parents probably work outside the house to pay for their two BMW 5 series and heavily mortgaged 5,000 square foot home while the kids stay in their rooms watching some HBO violence/sex flick on tv. The parents are also sound a sleep when the 15 year olds come home at midnight-kids love it when no one is home to check their eyes or breath. No "real" family time/support group-having 2 parents and 3 kids each in their own bedroom at 7:30 pm is not family time. Alternatively, the teenagers are hanging out at the "park"-yeah, right like they are going to play soft pitch with their friends at night. Don't get me started. Growing up as a kid, son of a factory worker, I knew the leather strap hanging on the wall had another purpose besides being the leash for the family dog. Keep a kid out of trouble by having them in sports, scouts, martial arts, candy stripers or anything that fills up their empty time. You want to co-author a book on this subject...give me a call.
