I went to a walk in car show in Greenwood, IN today.
For those that are wondering what this is, For us in the cold mid west, we meet at an area Dog & Suds and bring pictures of the cars. They leave book for one week and all the people that visit that week get to vote for their favorite car. The one with the most votes gets a 1st/2nd place thophy. Kind of a fun thing to do to be able to talk cars during the winter.

Well this week we were sitting at a table with 2 extra chairs and this other table had a guy by himself. We ask if he wanted to join us. This guy is an older guy that we have seen alot just never talked to other than to say hi to.

Come to find out, he was into boats. I also like boats. As we talked he said he had race boats. Who else do I know that had race boats, Gary C. So I ask him if he knew Gary. Seem like this guy knew Gary and even help him at one time with his boat. Then he said Gary was a real PARTY GUY. Sounds like this guy really knew him. Then he mentions an old racing buddy of his, Charlie Seigel, Sue lite up and said "That was my uncle". So this proves it really is a small world.

do you have a small world story?

What a small world, I remember some people from Indy helping me, and the key word is "WAS" a party guy.

Small world story, well I need to think about that and get back to it.

Never mind Got One.

I use to own a Slot Car Raceway in Southern California. One of my larger Events (147 racers) three guys came up to me and say do you remember me, well from my Party Days things are still a bit blurreeeeeee and said no please refresh my memory. One guys I almost forgot about, another Garry Hayworth, we use to race (slotcars)at a track on the Northside of town and another one on the west side of town and to this day we have keeped up on our friendship.

And There was a third, Woody Armstrong which I didn't remember until he said TEEPEE at 38th and Fallcreek. I told him he had the silver GTO convertable with cragars on it, he said that was me.

It is cool when it does become a small world.

GREAT THREAD WILDCAT, hope you win win for this weeks post of the week award.

Coming back from the Outer Banks in July of 1999 on the motorcycle, we got caught in a huge rainstorm and had to hide out under an overpass for a couple of hours. Finally limped into a small gas station/convenient store and then it finally stopped raining. We were taking off our rain clothes when an elderly couple pulled in to get gas. They started talking to us, "where are you going? Where are you from? etc." Sandy asked if they were locals and they said they were from Erie, Pa. He was a retired Dr. Turned out Sandy's mom was a nurse at the same hospital at the same time he was working there in the late 40's early 50's. We were in Virginia, at the time, I think. The only customers in this tiny store in the middle of nowhere.

I graduated from a large high school in Lincoln, Nebraska. On graduation night, I walked down the aisle and sat with a girl that I NEVER had a class with in three years. I knew her name, but didn't know her because of no class with or no common friends.

Many years go by, and I'm in divorce court one day. I arrive early and sit on benches in court room next to this lady I don't recognize. I see her divorce papers asking for her maiden name back, and I see her previous name which was the girl I walked down the aisle with. She didn't look the same, cut off her long blonde hair and now had glasses.
I ask are you to same Barb xxxxx that went to Northeast H.S. To our amazement, we didn't know each other in high school and NEVER had seen each other since our graduation night, we end up next to each other again in divorce court!

Yes, it is a small world!

Larry, I would think Barb would have been more memorable with a last name of xxxxx. That is a very unusual name.

Ed- it was Barbara Bowers, and in high school, she was a Barbie. I just remembered her first job after that divorce case, had several X's involved. Can I get sued for this?

I guess I soon will qualify for public defender...........
that would have saved me thousands during the past three divorces

Todd - that's OK, none of my business anyway. I just thought I was seeing things wrong.

When are you going to change avatar picture with all three cats in it?
