What a tragedy-Earnhardt died in the crash. Guess you were way off on that one Gary. A friend of mine just called and told me. I never liked the guy as a driver, but would never wish this on him. We lost a great today- RIP Dale ------------------ |

I wasn't particularly an Earnhardt fan, but I blame this on NASCAR. Restrictor plates are a bad thing. It bunches the cars up and then they add these aero changes that act like brakes. These drivers can't get away from each other. They need to let these guys race, too many idiotic rules. ------------------ |

It was apparent to me that Dale was a jam car blocking the all the boys from going to to race with his other two cars, it was a business move and Dale paid the ultimate price. Dale came down on Sterling, PERIOD It is not NASCAR's fault they made it one of the best restricted plate races I personally have ever seen. THE BLAME GOES TO Technology. Nascar is doing the best they can, all they need to do is look for more safety. |

First, I'm saddened with the loss of a great driver, as I have seen many go that way. I wasn't a Earnhardt fan, but did respect him as a champion. Second, restrictor plate racing is crap. 40 cars all within three seconds of each other is a accident waiting to happen. Even J. Gordon said that after the race - the big wreck was predictable for sure. Let these cars race. If Indy cars can run 240MPH with no roofs and very few serious accidents, then NASCAR has to loosen up. I like to watch great talent race, not play follow the leader, and let the wind current decide who is going to lead this lap or next. I don't like to see anyone die in racing, but, death is a part of the risk of racing, and ALL drivers know that. Technology? Come on. Technology and insurance. When Bobby allison wreck cause some people to be hurt in the stands, auto racing almost came to a stop. Drivers will always take the risk but to endanger the lives of people in the stands has been addressed and NASCAR has done that by the restrictor plates. As I stated in another thread Nascar is finally going in the right direction for the Plate races. Dale was being a jam car for his two boys in front of him, Mike and his son. It was a business move and no fault of no ones, he came down on Sterling and paid the ultimate price. He will be missed and racing world has suffered one of greastest players. It is the saddest day I have had since the greastest driver of all time died, Senna. |

You are right and, you win a prize! I'll have to mail it to you. I looked all over to find your size, but atlast I did. Senna was not his real name. His last name was DeSilva. Senna was his mother's maiden name he used to keep Brazilian fans from finding out where he lived - didn't work too long. I know you knew that!!!!!!!!!!!! |
