Watched evening news, showing new FoMoCo T-Bird. Seen one at Phx Auto Show in Dec. They call it a retro to 55 T-bird, which sold at $3 to $4,000 new. This version to sell at $40,000 MSRP, plus dealers added pack on top. Atleast one unit for every dealer, and the top Ford dealer in US, in LA, gets only 114 units. What do you think of it? Will they sell the projected 25,000 cars to be built, in the present economic slowdown phase we are in?

Good lookin buggy, Larry, but retro to 1955 only because they say so! Take away the porthole and it will take a great deal of imagination!

chevy is supposed to be comming out with a nomad wagon
wonder if it will be soon..i like the bird...but sometimes it looks like a early vette fiftees version...from the front...
im sure theyll sell them all...there are people out there that have money to spend...has nothing to do with the economy....they spend it during good and bad times..

Andy - seen the Nomad wagon at the Phx Auto show in Dec.--It is really sharp, and it would sell for sure. You got to see it! You could store your envelopes in it.

A two-door, five-passenger station wagon that really hauls. Design inspiration from 1953 namesake spawned from first-generation Corvette. Blind-like slats in roof slide together to create 56-inch opening. Rear seats fold flat, and the dual-door tailgate slides out of the way for better access to the cargo area. Sports-car like handling derives from an independent rear suspension. The shift-by-wire transmission has no mechanical link from the gear lever to the transmission case.
Powertrain: 5.7-liter V-8; four-speed automatic, rear-wheel drive.
Dimensions: Wheelbase, 114.1 inches; Length, 185.1 inches; Width, 72.2 inches; height, 54.5 inches

reminds me of that Mazerati/Chrysler car that came out in the mid '80's. Big Flop. The interior, from the picture, looks good on the new T Bird.

Ford guys like it and are waiting with baited breath. But what has Ford given it's car guys lately?

I think it looks like an overgrown MGB.

I see very little of the `55 in this car. I like the `55~`57 birds. I even like most of the big birds too. This is one I would not want.

Ford is to come out with special edition Bullit Mustang to bring back memories of the car in the movie.

The Nomad Wagon from above was outstanding at the Detroit auto show last year.

Ford is also showing a '49 Concept Car this year. All of the Detroit Auto Show pictures can be found at www.auto.com.
