What are you towing your trailers with ?
I just ordered a Chevy 2500 HD 4x4 Vortec 8100 v8 with Allison 5-speed od auto.
should be able to pull out tree stumps.

My 96 1/2 ton 4x4 did a great job but time for more POWER

I pull a Dodge with a Dodge...95 RAM w/5.9 I pulled my snake from Olympia, WA to Newport RI a few months ago...via Reno (Yerington actually). Couldn't have been happier! I have to let the Viper settle with "you-know-who" before I go look at new trucks!! LOL

Cummins turbo diesel and automatic in a `95 Dodge 2500 extended cab long bed 4X4 or for short trip `85 Bronco 351 HO

The Dodge rides good and handles the 24' enclosed trailer very well and get around 15 mpg unless I'm standing on it for a couple of hours then about 10.

The Bronco is great for getting in tight places but 8~9 mpg without the trailer and with it I can watch the gauge going down in a hurry. It has the power to move it but to short a wheelbase for highway trips at high speed.

Nyle nice!
I've been looking at the
2001, 2500, 8100 Suburban or a 2001 Ford Excursion Diesel. I don't think GM is putting the Allison in the Burb.

I have a Gmc crew cab with 8.1 and Allison on order (probaly Jan. or Feb.) and can't wait. I drove a friends and the power is unbelievabe!!! You can smoke the tires. After driving a '96 crew cab with 5.7 I can't wait for the extra power. Even the 454 is no match for this new combo.

Quick silver,
I have heard the Suburban is offered w/ same engine tranny combo. Now that would be something.

I've got a Chevy dually, 4/6 wheel drive. 1-ton with a 454 Vortex. Extended cab. Gets me around pretty good in the winter.
It's been known to pull semi's outa ditches ocassionally.
Guess it would pull a trailer??

Would love to see an Allison in the Burb. Have an Allison six speed in the Motorcoach,
Coach weighs 32,000 lbs. and pulled trailer with Prowler (6,000 lbs.) to and from Wooward, no problem! Allison trannys are bulletproof, 40,000 miles on mine no problems.

I have two one ton Chevy Cargo vans with a 350 vortec motor. Pulls a loaded down 18 foot enclosed trailer just fine, just don't go over 65 if you want to have any mileage!

Nyle, I use my International 4700 series, DT466 with 7 speed, 20' miller tilt trailer. Quite the site with the cat sitting on the trailer. Went thru the scales one time and got called for inspection. They never looked at the truck or trailer, just wanted to check out the car!
