Well, it seems if it isn't one thing it's another... I took mine to a different dealer today than the one that performed my recall and had them just check the upper ball joint torque. Appearantly the mechanic at the dealer where I had the recall done realized the 95 ft. lbs. of torque was too much, so he way under-torqued mine at less than 40 ft. lbs. (about 30 ft. lbs.). I just need to have them tightened up to the right torque now...
The reason I didn't just have them do it today was that I am still dealing with the original dealer over the damage done during the recall and he wanted me to bring it in for the torqueing issue and have a DC rep check it out so I left things as they were. I feel relieved at least that there wasn't any damage due to over-torqueing...
You guys might want to make sure yours is at least tight enough...

chukmar...You have been blessed with a great service dpt. Congrats to you! You are even luckier to have a service manager not roll his eyes when you bring in POA posts. I do trust my service dept though and it is reassurring to hear from someone else that overtorquing does not guarantee knuckle damage.

My dealer follows every service procedure to the letter, so I am confident mine are now at proper specs...

Why are they messing around with the upper ball joint?
The recall is for the lower.
Just had mine done today. Uppers were not touch. Mechanic had right tools. Job done in an hour.
Frank

PS: What is the torque for the lower joints?
