Well, it's 12:30 am and just got back from meeting everyone on Woodward. Bob and I arrived at 5:45 pm and the parking lot on 13 & Wooward was already filling up. Unbelievable cars - everything you can imagine. People everyone and lots of cars cruising on Woodward. TV stations were roaming the parking lot. Local Channel 7 was filming my cat, but I didn't get home in time to watch the news to see if it made it on TV. Carol, Larry Lord & Julie Hartman, Gary Cleverley, Dave & Nancy Ridge, Rich and Linda Ware, John Schulz & guest, Tom & Susie Mills, Tony & Margo Goertz, Peter & wife Goertz, and several others I didn't get a chance to meet and several other Prowlers that aren't with our group, finally showed up at about 9:15 pm. Took them forever to get down Woodward!! We were able to chat for a bit and about 10:15, the State Police were shutting down Woodward and clearing out the parking lot. They all headed back towards the hotel to grab something to eat. Have a big day tomorrow, starting early. I think they were in awe of the amount of cars, people, and the traffic! And it's only Wednesday night!!!
Will update again tomorrow!

Gary C. = "The Woodward Hat Smasher", and a new POA hat to boot! I'm thrilled to be dethroned, and the title "Hat Killer" is now assigned to you for the next six months. I will be contacting Valentine today, to see if they can provide you with an additional "Hat Laser/Night Vision Detector" for your cat. If available, will rush order to CJ's place, so you can install before the big Woodward event this weekend. Possibly 7,000 hats going down Woodward, and its scary to think you will be out amongst them. David, I feel bad about your new POA, and hope you can get another soon. Be sure to buy a bottle of white shoe polish and print big "HAT KILLER" on Gary's windshield and side windows. Identification of this criminal taking part in this great event, is paramount, for the safety of all involved. Also David, please post several pictures of how this crime was committed, showing us the guilty Prowler and the final condition of your beautiful new POA hat. Larry S.

David: Would you please take and posts some pictures of Carol and CJ, with their cats. Like to see these hard working girls (that doesn't sound right), who put in a large amount of time and energy for this great event. We all appreciate their efforts, and sure hope they will do the same next August! Larry Salzman, Az-POA
PS - Has Lord showed up yet? Make sure he knows about the "New Hat Killer"--public service announcement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well Day One was a long one! Started early at 8:00 am to head for the CAAP plant. Raining!!!! Arrrrrghhhh!
Everyone had a great time at the plant. The tour was great and there were a lot of Black Tie editions around to preview. The personnel at the plant are great people and always very accommodating. The tech engineer downloaded all of your questions from this site and he will be writing up a document for me to post with answers. The cash register at the merchandise store was ringing big time and everyone walked out trying to figure out how they were going to get everything in their cats!!!

Cruised to a fabulous restaurant for lunch. The restaurant was especially accommodating, seating us in a special area together with 50's decorations. They made a large sheet cake for us with a silver Prowler on top!! After everyone stuffed themselves, we cruised on over to the Harold Sullivan collection. This is probably the biggest, privately owned collection of Mopar muscle cars you will ever see. Included in the collection is the famous "Silver Bullet" car (a 1967 Plymouth GTX) which made Woodward famous for cruisin'. There were very rare vehicles that were 1 of 2 built, 1 of 4, etc. etc. Beautiful cars! Many of the guys commented to me that they had never seen a private collection as spectacular as this one. I think everyone enjoyed it and appreciated what they were seeing.

Even though it was raining most of the day, we had a good time cruising. Tony Goertz has a great big smiley face on the trunk lid of his yellow cat. Tony also has a horn (or something, I'm not sure what) that plays tunes, such as Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, the National Anthem, and a variety of other songs. Everytime we stopped he would entertain the traffic around us!!! The Blackburns have a purple cat with blue flames. We had 16 cats in the cruise today (couple of people didn't drive theirs because of the rain). Expect far more tomorrow and Saturday.

After Harold's place, most people went back to the hotels for some R&R. Gary & Nita, Laddie & Karen, Larry & Julie, the Myers, Bob and I went to Pasquale's for some liquid refreshments. Woodward was already starting to load up with cars. We left and headed back towards Bo's and Pontiac. DaimlerChrysler was hosting a Pre-Dream Cruise PT Cruiser cruise down Woodward and we passed them going the other way. Must have been a couple hundred PT's at least..couldn't begin to count them. Flamed, plain, woody's, you name it!!

Tomorrow is the Henry Ford Museum, the Parade and the Black-T event. Can't wait!

Will update tomorrow!!

P.S. Thanks for the info on Gary C. I can use it!!!
