Gloss black (same as hardtop) with red louvers. The 370 HEMI will jump out more on a black shaker - it might get lost on a red background. The chrome side spears look cool also - it transitions well with the chrome grill. Awesome project!

Ok final drum roll. Across all of the different sites recieved 69 votes. Thanks everyone

The final tally was
61%- Black
39%- Red

So for now I think I will stick with a Gloss black. The main focus in my mind right now is getting the car done and running vs just the looks. I can always change things like the color later locally and I have not even seen it yet in person.

You guys have been great, thanks so much for all of the feedback. I will continue to post over on the main thread my updates as they come in!

hmm JMO ...remember JMO
I dont like the "shaker" i think its way to overpowering for the hood.
Suggestion: Contact Chip Foose and spent the money of a custom design rendering for the hood and see if he would be at all interested in fabricating it for the Kat?

Oh buy the way ...Bumpers ???

Hair arch
I respect and appriecate everyone's options and feedback good or bad.
I get it and felt that way on a first glance also but it's bigger than just looks. All I can say is there is a ton of engineering, design and purpose for every single piece, part, and custom weld on this build. If you have some time please do check the main build post. Every part of this car has a purpose both for normal cruising, the track, performance, added power cooling and a bit of looks too.
There is a few threads on there i posted that show and describe the entire background and transformation of the hood, including airflow as well as added HP. The functional benfits is what we are going for.

Bumpers are staying, why? This car is not a garage and car show queen. I plan on tracking it on drag and actual track day road courses as long as I can keep the wheels down.
Any extra protection (even if not great counts)
For track inspections and on the road.
I spoke upfront with some of the clubs below to
Preclear some of the things in the build for non competition fun at the track days that I'm looking to do in the future. We will see. http://www.scda1.com/overview

I like the shaker. It takes a bit of getting used to on a prowler but after a while, it looks good.

My concern is the clearance for the shaker. It doesn't look like there is much like on the other cars shown. I imagine that hemi chugs pretty good when you rev it it or when you shut it off. I hope the shaker or the hood doesn't take a hit.But I'm sure you are on top of that.

Can't wait to see the first start-up video!

Have not seen in person but did ask, here is the feedback from
Brendan the builder from perf innovations on the hood design and shaker spacing. He is pretty technical on these things. You can believe there will be a good amount of testing done upfront and after I get down there and drive back to NJ.

"There is plenty of clearance between the shaker and engine. About 1/2" all the way around. The same clearance that the shakers have in stock chargers and challengers. Also keep in mind the engine doesn't torque like it would in the charger or challenger because the Trans is not connected to the engine. the Trans is what transfers the torque and with it being mounted in the rear it won't torque like a charger or challenger with it bolted to the back of the engine.  The Trans and Trans mounts is what takes the torque from the engine. "

Car is looking great Trey. Like I said, you can't go wrong with the color of the shaker. It is going to look wild either way. Almost time to drive that beast! Gonna be an unforgettable experience I think.

Thanks Ed I'm still trying to catch up to you and your 125k plus miles of 5.0 daily smiles. Not too many people have been really able to experience A prowler like that. I got the bug from you and Dean, Thanks for the intro Thrill ride in Jax, almost there my friend.
I'm still waiting for you to do a famous Dean burn out like in his videos below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cf7ZZKykfJ8&sns=em
Or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4K1TwPVaK_g&sns=em

Special thanks again to wildbill for this great pict from the main post. It really grows on ya! First there a little hmm thats different, Maybe a bit over the top, then it sits in like, I get it. There nothing normal about this project.

I was watching a documentary on carol Shelby on velocity this weekend. His whole concept was "big motor little car" nothing was even out there or advailable in the 60's in the US but a vette. GM turned him down, He saw the europeans, grabbed a light body from AC in the UK and through in a big ford motor with alot of custom engineering. That became the cobra. Folks thought he was out there and he ended up beating every car on the track. Thats not me but with risk can come reward.
I guess you can say like the 100 plus kats saw that went to vegas, I put my luck on the line, took a bold move and rolled the dice!
