Here is another great video of the new 6.1 Hemi Srt Prowler in action. This is the staging video from the 2012 Chrysler nationals rolling up to the Dodge checker flag stage for an interview. You can see and hear the car  in action.

I wondered about the status of your car since seeing it at the Carlisle event in July. Did you actually take possession of it yet?, or do they still have it down south?

POA is the only venue that I go to regarding Prowler related communication. .I do NOT facebook, twitter, text etc...maybe it is because I am getting older and the technological advances are occurring faster than I can comprehend.

Please keep us (set in our way's people) up to date by posting here on POA.

Hey Trey

Awesome job... can't believe that 6.1 fit in the cat...

You've now got Gen II Viper level HP in that car... It weighs a lot less... Might even beat a Gen III off the line... who knows...

If I may say just 2 things...

Would you consider adding a roll bar in there and buying a full face helmet?

Going at speeds you are now capable of going, having an open helmet isn't a good thing... a marble off the track hits you in that open face

your face won't be so pretty anymore.

Roll bar speaks for it's self...

Otherwise... Let the good times roll!

Getting the engine in, is not that bad getting it all to work. fabricated, welded, electronics / computers talking is no easy task. Helmet not a big One, I have a Sheild, all future races the hard top will be on. Roll bar considered but did not want to tear into the car yet. Im Still in full engine break in and normal road driving. Once ready Plan on starting with autocross, then instructional track days with professional instructors.
Everything just for fun. It's really a different drive. Like learning to drive it all over again. No more slam the gas off the line. A big difference is the prowler V6 uses a traditional throttle cable and pedal for gas. New hemi motor uses a electronic fuel control system. So every thing had to be converted from the pedal back. So throttle response torque, power and driving is much differnet than before. Takes time, will easly spin tires, and tons of power in every band and gear.

LOL Yeah, I bet it's a different drive! Wonder what drag radials would do at the strip for helping you hook up...

The helmet thing... really has nothing to do with the hardtop... most viper owners use full face for personal safety. It's not so much what you do... It's other cars around you tossing up rocks... Parts that come flying off the car in the other lane... that kind of stuff... I used to drive with my visor up... hated the heat inside my helmet. Not anymore LOL I've been tagged... once was enough.

Here's a video that changed our way of thinking for a bunch of us... It's an extreme case but I've had rocks jump in my side windows at 50 mph on a track.

Just something to think about...

Greetings from North Carolina one of the fastest car building places on the earth. Well its a full week of testing, tuning and road testing.
Day one has been a blast did at least 50 miles today through the Wilmington area

Here's some more shots under the shaker of the 6.1

Here is what it looks like under the shaker k&n wide open
The Filter has a rain cap cover, picture shown is wide open, to the front.
The cap swivels so if there's rain it hits the cover in the front
And drains down the side. Very cool and very functional

Doing some tweaking to improve cooling by removing the stock prowler air condensor for a/c in which orginally attached to the custom radiator with a fan attached to it. the 6.1 is much bigger engine so we wanted more air to the radiator.

This morning we Started with a new vertical condensor. It now being customized to fit perfectly under the grill will look like a innercooler a bit Behind the grill with Custom mounts. installed a new 14 inch fan. Reduced temps by 20 + degrees.

Before notice the black condensor on front of the radiator

In progress build. You can see the radiator is now wide open
With a big fan underneath.

Drove it today as the a/c is being finshed fully dressed to test engine temp with the computer, all is well.

Just a sneak peak alot more videos and picts to come.
He ride was awesome. Power everywhere.
When I stepped on the the gas in mid range 3-4 gear the car litterly
Jumps. Almost so much I had to let off the gas.
No dead spots in 3rd and 4th gear with a 6.1 hemi.

If you give it a half a push out of first your in the seat only half throttle.
since back to stock gears the shifts are longer but very powerful.
Like the stock prowler into second in every gear.

I was never more than like half throttle the whole time on the street.

With just a little gas the speedo quickly jumps to 70!
But the car is very driveable and feels great. Just when you hit it it reminds
You quickly. This is a srt hemi.

I have a gopro camera so you will be able to see it on the road
First hand soon. Hold on tight! I'm am

Day 2 in NC test and tune. So far everything is still looking good for the long east coast ride back to NJ/NY this week. Few more days of test and tune and targets 200 plus local miles, and hopefully a stop in MD/VA with the East coast possie. Very exciting after a 10+ month custom build process. thanks all for following the journey and all of the support.

Had some questions come in on the exhaust note in the video so took some good underbody shots today.
Here is the underbody of the Hemi prowler. Complete custom hand built exhaust system running magaflow high flow Cat converters, Muffler and Mopar performance exhaust tips, hand built custom headers.

I didn't go for loudest sound Just enough. There's no denying its a hemi and can go on longer drives with the hard top. To me It's best when you feel And have a strong engine with performance than a loud car with more sound from just the tail.

Picture Rear end with upgraded trans- inside 3 different trans performance kits put together for the upgrade to support extra hemi power

Drive shaft view-which was cut orginally and made straighter than stock to accept the custom hemi, gotta go slow over bumps low clearence

Bottoms up under the 6.1 Hemi- jet coated hand build headers to held pull out engine heat

Muffer and full view

upgraded breaks with spacers to clear

custom radiator with new fan added, bigger 14inch fan fits like a glove, blowing right to the radiator with Evans coolent. We will be road testing tommorrow going back to the Hemi thermostat running at 190 temp vs the 180 aftermarket we are using now. Will watch engine temps for any difference.

Recap
Was a great week of testing and tuning in Wilmington, still want to have a few more tweaks done locally before making the long haul back north. It's not like you stop buy your local dealer and say can you fix my hemi prowler? So having everything as tight as possible upfront from the builder is key.

Any time you get into a major build like this there is tweaks. The partnership with Brendan and the performance innovations crew has been great throughout the entire process.

Overall This was a great trip, seeing all that the car can Really do on the street, Really understanding all of the techincal aspects, build details and what it takes to make the beast run.

So there will be one more trip back down to seal the deal. Was a ton a fun and well worth it. Feel free to Enjoy the short version, of the 100 plus miles of smiles in NC again. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcm0ezp-bcM
