I noticed the fab work on the upper radiator hose,,,what about the lower hose. Same thing?

Maybe show us some details on how the was accomplished?

Thanks

The radiator hoses are half stainless tube and half heater hose.

This was done to adapt the Prowler radiator port diameter to the larger hemi port diameter. And also to make the tight radius curve and not kink.

In the future we will be having custom silicone hoses made just for the Hemi conversions.

Here's another pic of the setup

Love how all the Fab dust will always be in the interior and paint, as no protection was used.

The car is being painted with a custom paint job, and the top was not down for the whole process, it was only down when working on the interior dash. The car actually stayed covered the majority of the project, dust accumulates in about 30min in a fabrication shop.

However, I've two questions of you, performance_innovations:

  1. I see from your pic above that the V8 Hemi physically fits in the Prowler's narrow engine bay (much to my surprise), but can you actually see the V8 Hemi from the outside, or is it a total "sleeper" whose existence is unknown to others until you start it up?

  2. Could you, if you chose to do so with your set-up, unobtrusively reinstall the Prowler's air conditioning, such that it "looked factory"?

The only part of the Hemi motor that doesn't fit into the prowler is the intake.

The engine won't fit under the hood, so the hood needs a small hood scope or cowl to fit it.

The car was not cut up at all, no firewall cuts or subframe mods. We made mounts to adapt to the factory mounting points.

Yes the A/c can be installed and fully functional.

We have been driving and testing the car for the past couple of weeks before painting it.

It is very streetable, i would have thought it wouldn't have very good traction, but taking off from a light under 3/4 throttle it just goes!!! No spinning unless you really want to!

The car runs perfectly cool with the Evans waterless coolant and custom radiator, transmission shifts quick and powerful! Very very very fun ride, there is no way to make a V6 sound like this! The sound from the car is unbelievable.

I'm going to get a driving video up in the next couple of days.

We ended up removing the prowlerpro gears and going back to stock final drive ratio, and we might go back with a stock stall converter as well.

why did you have to remove the ProwlerPRO gears? The OEM factory gears may not be able to handle the additional torque. The guy in TX who put the 5.7L Hemi went thru 2 sets of OEM gears before buying the prowlerPRO ones.

The ratio is to high with all this power, it has too many rpm's cruising down the highway

We will see how they hold up

As I recall when Marty installed his stoker he also felt the need to switch back to stock ratio gears. I could be wrong. Marty?

Love the work you did. Great info. I just finished building and installing a blown 350 with dual 750s in a friends 33 willis. I will be getting another prowler to do the same to after the first of the year. Obviously it will be sticking out of the hood considerably so that I will have to modify also. Haven't figured out if I am going to go with side exhaust or zoomies.

That's right Rich. Once you get the extra power, traction becomes the issue.

Plus as a side benefit your fuel mileage increases when you swirch back to stock gears.

I can only imagine how much fun the Hemi Prowler must be to drive.

Craftsmanship and attention to detail is top notch! Next time drop in a crate LS7. I believe it will package a little better. Not sure if the transaxle can take the 505 H.P.
