The time has come to consider letting go of my 2000 Plymouth Prowler.
The past dozen years or so have been memorable and enriched my life in more ways than I can recall.
During the first year I had the car, it saw about 9,000 miles added to it's odometer.
Since July of 2018 it has seen less than 2,000 miles.
I guess when an individual has multiple vehicles to keep their interest, something is bound to get less attention.

With that said, I am making my car available to it's next caretaker.
To date the car has a little under 55,000 miles on it and has been a joy to own (mostly). A little over 40,000 of these miles were enjoyed by me.
It is my opinion that I should be able to get $27,500.00 for the car in it's current condition with the miles it has on it.
Yes this car has had several modifications over it's lifetime to date but those modifications either improve or detract from it's value depending on an individuals point of view.
Please note that the photo's I have posted are from two years ago. I don't think I have any more current than these but the only difference is the tires have been replaced and the odometer has added a few miles.

Note: Rear wheels are badly flaking. Was planning to swap rear wheels when tires were installed but the technician was concerned the TPMS Valve Stems might break during removal (See Topic discussion) I have since purchased replacement TPMS units for the 2002 system and acquired a Viiper module to install in the dash. These will be made available.

Note:
I have kept a record of any service done to this car during my ownership as well as a record of fuel and mileage records with their associated dates.

Over the dozen years I have had this car in my possession, I have accumulated many new and used parts to have as spares. Whoever ends up with this car will have the first opportunity to purchase any or all of these items.

Once this car has found a new caretaker, I will begin to offer the “Extra” parts that do not go with the car to members of POA before anywhere else.

I will discuss through PM any questions you may have about the car. I may not answer on the forum depending on the question.

Something I overlooked previously:
I have the original front and rear bumpers as well as the stock rear valance panel the car was assembled with.
These parts were conveyed to me when I took ownership of it and will convey to a subsequent owner if they would like to have them.
I have never removed the bumpers from the boxes they were provided to me in so I can not attest to their condition.
The rear valance is near perfect as one would hope.

It came from Texas many years ago.
I really have not been giving the car the attention it deserves lately and thought it best to give someone else an opportunity to enjoy it.

There is a good chance it does....I replied with a PM.

NOTE: I do have several extra used decent rear wheels that have been acquired over the years.
I will make a pair available to the subsequent caretaker of this car should they want them.

Other items that would be made available if desired to the next caretaker would be as follows:
A trailer hitch designed for the Mill's rear body panel.
A correct unused Mopar trailer wiring harness.
A NOS PT Cruiser Chrome Luggage Rack.
One of the original and still unused Luggage bags designed for the stock Prowler luggage rack.

These items are NOT for sale at this time but if not purchased in conjunction with the car, they will be made available to POA members before attempting to advertise them through other venue's.

Over the years I have also gathered many additional pieces as spares as they have become available.
At some point I after the car has found another home, I will make a list and post them as available.

OK all, here is an update.

There is a pending deal in the works and a check is "In the Mail" but the car is not sold until the check clears.

IF all goes according to plan, the car will head toward Texas once again sometime in early December.

I will post any further information as necessary.

It has been fun most of the time and I don't plan on going anywhere anytime soon.
Even without the car I am still at the moment, planning on attending the Wild West Virginia event to spend some quality time with my Prowler family.

Bob,
It's all your fault you know. Had you been around more often, maybe I wouldn't have ever thought of selling the car in the first place.

I'm just having fun at your expense, don't mind me.
Yes I plan on hanging around. Just because the car has found a new home, I did not relinquish the friendships brought about by this site and participation at events over the years.

As of the moment, I am planning on attending the West Virginia event in September 2021 and any upcoming ECP events well into the future as I am able to.

I'm sorry this sale has caught so many of you off guard but I genuinely expected that the response would not be immediate, and that I would still have the car for another year or maybe longer.

The up side is the new caretaker is very excited about getting the car and I think it found a good home.

Update:

It appears this is a done deal. Fed Ex delivered a Certified Check this weekend and it will get deposited Monday.
Once the funds have successfully cleared and are safe in my account, I will move forward with the process.

IF all goes as planned, the buyer will be sending a shipper to pick up the car, probably in the first couple weeks of December, and deliver it to Texas.

I am compiling a list of items I will want to offer members of POA in the coming weeks before attempting other avenues.
I am not going anywhere, any time soon as the friendships I have made in the past dozen years will hopefully remain intact.

I am planning to attend the 2021 West Virginia event.
Yes, Seller's remorse has already set in but I'll just deal with it as best as I can.

Hello Andria, I'm sure it's very hard letting go of your Kat that has brought you a lot of excitement when driving it and a lot of thumbs up. It was great chatting with you about different topics like the front rattling noise coming from the motor. Which wound up being the decoupler pulley. To bad the sale didn't happen during the Lonestar Prowler Roundup, you could have drove it over here and flown back home....lol... anyways Congrats on your sale...

I am not sure what you mean by "Tubes" and "Wires" but, almost everything under the hood was done by the original owner when the car was relatively new.
To that end, I have no idea what brand names or sources were used, I just lived with and enjoyed it for the past dozen years.

Well, after a dozen years of enjoyment my Prowler is on it's way to a warmer climate.

It left this morning, about a half hour ago and I am sad to see it go but it was time to move on to other ventures.

I hope the car and new owner have an uneventful trip back to Texas.

You don't really miss it until you see it going away without you in it. You will have fun with Corvair's, but you might be back in a few. Jerry knows the Prowler pulls you back in.

Just wanted to say thank you Andria. I can never say enough good things about you. Treated me more than fair. Loaded me up with enough parts & information to keep me occupied for weeks. You did everything but drive the car to Texas. I will always be in your debt. I actually hated to take the car as I knew you would regret it. I really felt bad until I turned the corner at the end of the road. That’s when I looked in the rear view mirror & a wave of extreme happiness over took me. Kinda like my first kiss. Yahoo!!! Well even though there was snow everywhere the roads were dry. Stopped several times to check on her & she never moved an inch on the trailer. Drove 585 miles then the rain started moving in. We checked into a hotel & will wait for the front to pass. Hopefully the roads will dry out before leaving & the rest of the trip uneventful. Already has someone wanting to take pictures of the car as I was getting gas. I really believe Andria will be in the market for another prowler soon. Those corvairs are pretty unique & cool looking but can’t replace a Prowler. Thank you again Andria. I’m your friend for life.

Sounds like two really great people met for the first time over a Prowler. I've been experiencing this for over 20 years now and it still amazes me how a one time purchase of an automobile (well, maybe more than one) has changed my life for the better. I've met the nicest people during my Prowler ownership throughout the years, and continue to meet more each and every event I attend. As I age, the material things become less important, and the freindships and camaraderie become the main focus. I've got prowler friends in just about every state of this nation. I used to look forward to seeing all the cars and checking out everyone's modifications. Now I look forward to seeing my dear friends again. I'm looking forward to meeting Dick for the first time this fall and seeing Andria again. Wishing all my friends, new and old, a verry Merry Christmas and a safe and prosperous New Year.

I couldn't imagine the feeling I would have seeing my Prowler leaving my sight on someone else's trailer.
