Before I remove my slowly dying alternator out of the car I'd like to order one. When the other one arrives, I will take out the bad one and diagnose. make sure that yours have the decoupling pulley.there are 2 for prowlers,one with and one w/o decoupler.robin is wrong. ------------------ |

I am referring to the alternator in the ebay add that has sold written across it. I have a 2001 and just install that same alternator with the clutch on it and I have no problems. Thanks Robin At the bottom of add it ask for information about the vihicle and it states it is compatical with 2001prowler. That would mean the ad is wrong. I just posting what ebay said. No offense taken.

Mine was bought here in London Ontario only one in the surrounding area. Got a spare from California for 200. acdelco here is the tag. the one installed is Dixie my mistake.  |

CCJ, do you have an Advance Auto Parts store there locally? You can get a very good alternator from them for $181.99 plus core charge of $70.00 which is refunded when you turn in your old alternator. It can also be ordered online from their website. It is a ToughOne alternator- Remanufactured- 130 amps. and supplied with clutch or decoupler pulley. This is the same alternator that I have in my Kat that was installed six months ago and it is working just fine. |
