Not sure about the terminology. My a/c does not work. The accessory(?) belt is shredded. Also, one of the pulley's is frozen in place. Top left of motor when looking from front of car.

So, I am reasonably mechanical (did my own gears). Can I fix this myself? If so, what parts do I ask for and where is a good place to get them?

Thanks for the help.

-Pete

belts avaiable from napa or other parts stores get one of each, frozen part is called the upper idler pulley.sounds like you should be able to do it.warning get the belt tension correct or it will throw a belt,do a search for belt tension, its very high and must be set correctly, you will need a inexpensive gates belt tension guages 2 to set.guages /gates part #s are-91132-belt set 190ft lbs-other guage is a gates/napa kr2-set 150 ft lbs.

Jan may be opinionated, but he's always trying to help fellow Prowler owners. Often times people really don't want to hear the truth. I can tell you from first hand experience. Also the reason I haven't been on the site since early November.
