I am not the most mechanical person in the world and appreciate your time and advice in advance. I noticed a brownish-red spot toward the rear of the vehicle,in between the tires, on the garage floor. It was about the size of a baseball on the floor. I am assuming transmission fluid? Has anyone else ever experienced this? The car has 4800 miles on it and is a 2000. Thank you again.

Did you put your finger in it to see if it is very slippery? It could be a leak at the tranny cooler or one of the lines. You need to look at the underside of the car to see where it is dripping from. You need to trace it back to its source since it could be running down a hose for a foot or two before it drips on the floor.

Also check your SHOCKS, as they will also leave a puddle there.

With that mileage any transmission fluid would most likely not be brownish at all. I would consider another fluid leak.

Thanks everyone, I'll have to wait and see since the fluid was completely dry on the garage floor. Thank you for all the suggestions. I'm definitely proud to be a member of this website.
