i'd like to ask all of you prowler god a question, my cd cassette will not eject, it's showing error & no disc, i've tried turning it on & off, when i press the blue botton on the player, it just makes a shuffling sound like it's trying to find a disc, i think something is stuck inside, is there a way to unstuck it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I know there are times when I don't completely slide the top open and the cassette gets caught... Another thought: Disconnect the battery and let the CD player reset itself. That has worked for me on home units.... Just some possibilities. Kevin ------------------ |

Sounds like you might have a CD stuck- half engaged, half in the CD holder. Real easy to remove the player from behind the seat, remove the nuts and disconnect the quick connect connector. Once you have the player out and on your workbench, tilt the player on it's side and try to gently tap the CD back into the holder. You can hook it up at the quick connect to see if it will eject the holder. If that fails, at least you will have it out and can take it to a stereo shop where they can disassemble it to get the CDs and holder out of the player. Good luck, Buddy ![]() ------------------ |

I'd hate to suggest something that would ruin a CD, but have you tried playing it? It then says no CD? Then try changing tracks or changing CD disks with your radio buttons? Theory being, it might try to play another part of the CD you are having trouble with, or it would put it back in the cassette and try to play another CD. Maybe after that it will eject. OK, so I type slow... This message has been edited by idive on 10-17-2004 at 03:38 AM |

quote: Yeah, paper labels throw off the balance of the CD just enough that several plays will ruin the CD playing "spindle" because the off balance CD is basically wobbling while being played. I read that Blockbuster ruined many Playstations from putting labels on one side of the game CD's. |

You learn something everyday on this site. I used to burn my own CDs using an expensive software package to design labels for each jewel case and the CD itself. I then printed the labels that came with a glossy finish and adhesive backside. I stuck the label on the CDs and after about 40 or 50 plays, the CDs would invariably skip to the point I had to toss them. I never understood why, but now I see what was happening. ![]() |

I forgot to mention that I was playing a cd with a homemade label on it and that was the one that got stuck. Never did that again! ![]() |
