Thanks CJ,,, the prowler is being well taken care of now. From what I hear, the guy never takes above 180 anymore. To bad, it needs to stretch it's legs once in a while,,,

And your right Larry, pushing way into the triple digits with the horse power, LOL.

And folks, not only did Larry drive that car the distance, it rained a good portion of the trip.

Anyway,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Politics don'g belong in a club site.

Does anyone here go to political sites and post about their Prowler? I don't think so.

Even though I occasionally still post on political subjects I would rather not see it here.

Where is the great karaoke guy these days?? Man,, my sides still hurt from laughing that night.

Your right about the friendships. I'm going to buy a tear drop trailer for this Plymouth, head out to Woodward and just cruise.......

And the "cop on the left" was a classic and should have been on a reality show, Worlds Dumbest Drivers,, LOL

In less than 10 hours, this post has seen 288 views and 33 replies!! My hat is off to every person who replied, spoke their minds and piece (& peace). Someone voiced a very strong opinion and had every right to do so in the beginning. Go back and read the entire thread and you'll find that the folks on this site are stand up individuals who can mend ways, work things out......poke at one another. Life is too darn short to have it any other ways. Words can be harsh sometimes and feelings hurt. As they say, "treat people the way you wish to be treated"! This IS THE BEST site on the WWW and I'm proud to be associated with it and all the great people on it as well! Thanks for making it the best there is!!

Yes, John at his best, good to see you post even if to stir the pot.

You are right about people not wanting to read some of the crap. I for one don't enjoy it or read it. If this was started by almost anyone else I might not have read it. I 1st looked at the date since it has been so long since I have seen John post.

I still got my car, bought new 7/15/98. It has about 34,000 miles but doesn't get out as much as it use to. Just don't have the time.

Do you know where the Bullit is? seems like so many of the unique cars have gotten sold and never to surface. The paint on your cars was fabulous.

Keep the Cranbrook cruisin and might see it on Woodward someday.

I will make it again to Woodward sometime soon Larry, and glad you still have your car. I went through withdrawals this year during August. I have been on hundreds of cruises and events, but nothing tops Woodward for the cars, the people, the friends made. And to be honest, nothing tops driving ones car all across the country to get there, both in my Prowler, (twice), and the Plymouth, (twice). I wouldn't change anything. The trials and tribulations with the Plymouth, the people who would pull over to help was amazing. I even changed the head gasket on the side of the freeway in some mid western state and was on the road in two hours. Now, most people would say man that would be a real pain. Even two highway patrol cops stopped, asked, shook their head and wished me luck. But I was one happy camper knowing I had the part, the tools, and could do it.

Yes, the Silver Bullet is not to far away from me actually. And although it really doesn't reach 180, (close). The guy really does baby it. And I think it deserved it for the road wars I went though with it. He has even done more shiny stuff if you can belive it. Under the hood looks even more awesome now.

Well, I hope I stirred the pot enough for the people involved to do some thinking at least. Cause I gotta tell ya, I hate to talk politics at dinner, and on a friggen car site for crying out loud.

Hope you all drive safe and have fun. I know I am,, having fun anyway, LOL.

The burnout, one of a hundred,,,

Hi John,,,WELCOME BACK!
___________________________________________________________

Once upon a time,,,,,we had a weekly NASCAR segment where a dozen to 15 members use to post their race predictions.

It seems some objected to those posts about racing,,,and when Toyota came into NASCAR, the banter got complex.
Eventually, the weekly racing chatter ceased,,, to the delight of many.

I have no problem with that,,,the majority rules.

********************************************************

Another point in time, there was a POLITICAL DISCUSSION FORUM. Dozens of members engaged in daily banner, spewing their opinions on the politics of the day. Once again, some objected and the forum for those posts was removed.

I could never understand why a special forum, designated for that type of topic only, could be so objectionable to some people If they didn't want to read it,,,why did they? And why complain? Maybe it didn't fit their agenda?

I have no problem with the removal of that special forum,,,the majority rules.

***********************************************************

Since this is a car website, maybe we shouldn't allow sports topics as well? Some have gone on and on about their favorite team, and I personally don't care to read about that crap any longer,,,but never express my dislike of it being posted on this car website, and never will.

###########################################################

There are many sides to all issues, and I feel everyone has the right to express their opinions. Many have done so on this thread

To refresh everyone's memory, here is what the OFF TOPIC FORUM states:

Off Topic Discussion
This forum is a place where you can speak your mind and discuss any topic you desire. Bantering and lively social discussions are welcome. (please keep it clean and friendly)

I think we all can live with those rules stated above,,,,I have no problem with that,,,,,shouldn't the majority rule?

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

My political combatants,,,Miller, Goat-Bob, and Robert,,, know I like them. I've told them so! I may disagree with their point of view on politics, but respect their right to voice their opinions. Hell,,,sometimes they may even change my opinions

I think we all can get along just fine within the parameters of this car website

I've said my piece, and will refrain from further comment.

You just had to bring up the Raiders,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Good to see you Larry,

My girlfriend Kathleen, who is a die hard 49er fan and Raider hater, has to use my Raider blanket to keep her warm at night in our bed, even I don't use it because I don't need it. Now that is acceptance,,,,

Hey JD why don't you tell us how you really feel? Now that would be something new! Sheeeeessssee where to start? Love the flathead (jealous? a little on the wrenching side) but I still get the cat out now and then. Made it to the track a few times this year and haven't turned a wrench on it (besides checking plugs and compression test) in 3 years. Kinda miss it. Woodward? My favorite memories? Washing 2 and 4 days of bugs off of the cars in CJ and Bob's driveway and racing south on Woodward under the bridge at 90mph. Cop to the left? I still don't see him. Kareoke? I can't sing. You want to start a discussion? How about we start with 6&0? Woodward or Deadwood next year?

Hi JD, like Ed I have been on this site about as long as anyone. I too as far as I know have never had a cross word with you. I have always considered you a friend, at least I thought so. I am not sure where we stand now.

I know I am also one of the more guilty parties that makes political posts. I have recently tried to mostly to posting them in the designated political threads in the test post area. But I do slip occasionally, so yes I am still guilty. I have made an sincere effort to cut back. It may not seem like it but trust me, I really have. I guess I just need to try harder. You did make me think.

But since you bring up posts that suck and that are a major turn off. Name calling, telling people to screw off etc also sucks and is a turn off. I don't believe that I have ever reverted to name calling or telling someone where to go. If I have ever done so I sincerely apologize as that is out of line. There is no room for that on this or any other forum either. So I submit to you that is also the kind of stuff that turns people off and drives them away just as much as politics and possibly more. Just some food for your thought.

I just read AC's post and he did a much better job of expressing himself than I have. So I will stop at what I have already said and just say Larry I agree 100% with what you posted and I will also refrain from further comment.

Rich

Just saw your post Rich, sorry.

If what I have wrote causes anyone to actually think about the topic, then I am happy, name calling or not. You get offended because of my post getting personal? Well I'll tell ya, I have been a very rare visitor to this site in the last 3-4 years. Think of how I felt when I go to the off topic,, ( I go there for the jokes, and humor, plus I have no Kat now so the general discussion does not interest me as much.) Anyway, I go to the off topic and what do I see? It had to be 3 out of the first 4 topics about what a screwed up job our leaders are doing. I mean jeeze, don't you guys get tired of beating on your chest and yelling "their doing it all wrong"???

You know what? get offended of my post if you like, it sucks to see that crap on the board. And people who continue to post like that should go sit in a corner and think, think, think. I also think if people cannot post like normal human beings, and not keep from continually slamming something down peoples throats, well they should go find a web site that encourages that garbage. You reap what you sow man.

Now Marc, I'm just getting started on how I really feel. If I get pushed a bit more, they may learn more.

But I would rather think back about the good times, like in Vegas with Bob, CJ, you and I at Sema, and the beautiful pictures we got.
And all those times I kicked your behind on the country roads. Isn't that how it went down Bob and CJ?

I am sure I have posted tons of things that people didn't like. I know there is not one person on this earth who would agree with me all the time, or even 90 % of the time.
But like A/C pointed out, off topic is for off topic. Remember the guy who posted a picture of his dog every time he made a post !!!! The dog didn't change much between shots. That must have been VERY important to him. I personally didn't think it belonged on a car site after the first couple of hundred or so. It didn't cost me anything for him to post it so just skip his stuff. Pretty simple.
This thread will die within a week or so also and something else will come up. Some folks don't read the paper or watch the news and sometimes there actually is something important reported here, that is political in nature.
This is STILL the best car site on the web. The folks help each other out almost daily. I don't see a need to change much. Others may disagree and I am sure it won't be the last time they disagree with me. I can be pretty disagreeable at times.
On the other hand, I have 99 % fond memories of anything Prowler related, especially the events. I remember "helping out" Marc by telling the cop that all the other cops left him off the hook, also. I think Marc appreciated that. lol
Glad you are enjoying life out there in the sunshine and stop back more often, especially if it to compliment us about our great website.

I'm sure it will die soon too Ed, but I got my money's worth and had my say.

And a lot of what you say is also true. But I am very tired of being beat down with all political crap. And no, you cant just not read it, it slips in everywhere. That's why I thought it was cool when a forum topic was dedicated to that alone. Then I thought it would be fine. I admit I was not here when it was cancelled. But to have it cancelled because people could not mind their manners and maintain their cool,, well,, I've already said what I thought about that. I guess some people never learned to play nice.
So now, instead of having a separate place for that BS, it has to be slipped whenever a person can jump on the opportunity.
I say again,, there comes a time when posting all the negative stuff, is just that, negative. And it sucks. All yours, or others replying eloquently about the freedom of speech, rights of others, is all crap, pure and simple. And it doesn't hide the fact your trying to push your views onto others.. I realize I am doing the same also here. But I am not here, day in and day out, ragging on somebody, or some issue that, "their just not doing it my way, wah wah wah,"
Does any of what I said above even matter to you or others? I know I am not the first person to bring up this topic. Most others do as you say, don't read, or so they say. But I would wager a large sum the truth really is they do read, especially now that there is no specific place for it. And they either get depressed because it is negative print, or agitated because it may be pointed to their guy. Either way, enough is enough man. Jeeze, run for office like I suggested. Make a real difference.

And I am sure there will be more eloquent posts, (or PMs to the "group" lol) to try to intelligently and eloquently put me down for my thoughts or beliefs. Yes I will be gone again soon. But the consistent pounding of those post will continue until someone says enough. I'm saying enough. Dam

And I positive Marc appreciated your help. Lord knows he would be nowhere without us. Or wait, he may have had a singing career if we didn't make so much fun of him that time. He never knew, but we were laughing with him,,, right?
