You can get arrested for expired tags on your car but not for being in the country illegally. You know you live in an Upside-down Land if... Your government believes that the best way to eradicate trillions of dollars of debt is to spend trillions more of our money.
The Supreme Court of the United States can rule that lower courts cannot display the 10 Commandments in their courtroom, while sitting in front of a display of the 10 Commandments. You know you live in an Upside-down Land if... Children are forcibly removed from parents who appropriately discipline them while children of "underprivileged" drug addicts are left to rot in filth infested cesspools. (Detroitstan) You know you live in an Upside-down Land if... Working class Americans pay for their own health care (and the health care of everyone else) while unmarried women are free to have child after child on the "State's" dime while never being held responsible for their own choices. You know you live in an Upside-down Land if... Hard work and success are rewarded with higher taxes and government intrusion, while slothful, lazy behavior is rewarded with EBT cards, WIC checks, Food Stamps, Housing Assistance, Medicaid, and Welfare. You know you live in an Upside-down Land if... The government's plan for getting people back to work is to provide 99 weeks of unemployment checks (to not work).
Politicians think that stripping away the amendments to the constitution is really protecting the rights of the people. You know you live in an Upside-down Land if... The rights of the Government come before the rights of the individual. You know you live in an Upside-down Land if... Parents believe the State is responsible for providing for their children. You know you live in an Upside-down Land if... You pay your mortgage faithfully, denying yourself the newest big screen TV while your neighbor defaults on his mortgage (while buying iphones, TV's and new cars) and the government forgives his debt and reduces his mortgage (with your tax dollars). You know you live in an Upside-down Land if... Being stripped of the ability to defend yourself makes you "safe".

A possible source of the so-called "birther" issue--or at least a potential cause of the rumors that have dogged President Barack Obama--has been identified. Obama's former literary agency misidentified his birthplace as Kenya while trying to promote the then-Harvard Law grad as an author in 1991. According to a promotional booklet produced by the agency, Acton & Dystel, to showcase its roster of writers, Obama was "born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii." Miriam Goderich edited the text of the bio; she is now a partner at the Dystel & Goderich agency, which lists Obama as one of its current clients. "This was nothing more than a fact checking error by me--an agency assistant at the time," Goderich wrote in an emailed statement to Yahoo News. "There was never any information given to us by Obama in any of his correspondence or other communications suggesting in any way that he was born in Kenya and not Hawaii. I hope you can communicate to your readers that this was a simple mistake and nothing more." ------------------ |

I really don't care where Obama was born. He could have been born on Mars. It makes no difference at this stage of the game. He needs to go and join Jimmy Carter. Maybe become a Comunnity Organizer, or build Homes for Humanity. There has to be something he is qualified to do. Running this country is not one of them, unless campaigning, spending money we don't have, blameing others for our problems, and a love for traveling when things look bad makes for a good President.. |

Mickey, you are way too cynical. It is just a coincidence that he is now one of the clients for the firm where she works. Not a political appointment, not a payment, just a total coincidence. She made an honest mistake, she was only an editor, now a PARTNER. If you screw up something that simple you usually get a huge promotion or a new job, making big bucks. Just a coincidence, repeat after me, just a coincidence. |
