I have four extra tickets for the Robbie Knievel (son of Evel Knievel) event at the Ford Field next weekend in Detroit, Mi - if anybody wants them.

Robbie is going to try to jump over 1,000 Obama supporters with a Caterpillar D-9 bulldozer

I love Christmas lights! They remind me of
the people who voted for Obama.

They all hang together, half of them don't work,

and the ones that do, aren't all that bright

President Obama walks into the Bank of America to cash a check.

As he approaches the cashier he says, "Good morning

Ma'am, could you please cash this check for me?"

Cashier:

"It would be my pleasure sir. Could you please show me your ID?"

Obama:

"Truthfully, I did not bring my ID with me as I didn't think there was any need to. I am President Barack Obama, the President of the United States of AMERICA !!!!"

Cashier:

"Yes sir, I know who you are, but with all the regulations and monitoring of the banks because of impostors and forgers and requirements of the Dodd/Frank legislation, etc., I must insist on seeing ID."

Obama:

Just ask anyone here at the bank who I am and they will tell you. Everybody knows who I am."

Cashier:

"I am sorry Mr. President but these are the bank rules and I must follow them."

Obama:

"I am urging you, please, to cash this check."

Cashier:

"Look Mr. President, here is an example of what we can do. One day, Tiger Woods came into the bank without ID. To prove he was Tiger Woods he pulled out his putter and made a beautiful shot across the bank into a cup. With that shot we knew him to be Tiger Woods and cashed his check.

Another time, Andre Agassi came in without ID. He pulled out his tennis racquet and made a fabulous shot whereas the tennis ball landed in my cup. With that shot we cashed his check.

So, Mr. President, what can you do to prove that it is you, and only you, as the President of the United States?"

Obama:

Obama stands there thinking, and thinking, and finally says, "Honestly, my mind is a total blank...there is nothing that comes to my mind. I can't think of a single thing. I have absolutely no idea what to do and I don't have a clue.

Cashier:

"Will that be large or small bills, Mr. President?

CMS statistics (Table 12) reveal that the net cost of private health insurance – premiums minus benefits – fell by 2.8percent in 2008. Furthermore, CMS Health Spending Projections predict that spending on private health insurance will rise 2.5percent in 2010, while prices of medical goods and services rise by 2.8percent.

Consumers’ cost of health premiums is also part of the detailed consumer price index. After all the overheated rhetoric about “requested” or “expected” increases of “up to” 39 percent, who would have imagined that the average consumer cost of health insurance premiums fell by 3.5 percent in 2008 and fell by another 3.2 percent in 2009?

FACT CHECK redux: The Facts About Health Plan Profits Posted on February 11, 2010 by AHIP Coverage Health plan profits continue to be a source of debate in the larger conversation about health care reform. While there has been focus on the levels of profits, many independent experts continue to note that health plan profits are not a key driver of increasing health care costs. Below are some key points on health plan profits and fact checks setting the record straight: Fortune 500 puts the health plan industry profits at 2.2%, 35th on the list. This is below other sectors of the health care industry. Click here for the full list. For every dollar our nation spends on health care, less than one penny goes towards health plan profits. A sincere cost-containment discussion would focus on the other 99 cents. Check out this document which sets-the-record-straight about health plan profits. ABC News reports on the attempt of some to vilify health plans by focusing on health plan profits, but as this article points out profits are neither as high as some claim nor are they the main driver of health care costs. “…the companies’ profits still represent a miniscule percentage of the $2.5 trillion Americans spend every year on health care.” “‘Insurance company profits in the large picture have very little to do with the overall rising cost of health care,’ said health care expert Henry Aaron, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution.” The AP does a quick fact check on the claims about health plans’ profits. The article notes that many of the claims being used in the debate are misleading and in some cases wrong. “Quick quiz: What do these enterprises have in common? Farm and construction machinery, Tupperware, the railroads, Hershey sweets, Yum food brands and Yahoo? Answer: They’re all more profitable than the health insurance industry.” “Health insurance profit margins typically run about 6 percent, give or take a point or two. That’s anemic compared with other forms of insurance and a broad array of industries, even some beleaguered ones.” “…in pillorying insurers over profits, the critics are on shaky ground.” According to Ezra Klein, a blogger for the Washington Post: “The insurance industry is not a particularly profitable industry.” Health plans are “…the 86th most profitable industry as measured by profit margins, with an average margin of 3.3 percent.” “…it’s hard to see how [health plan profit margins of 3.3%] are a primary driver of health-care spending, much less the growth in health-care spending.” - See more at: http://www.ahipcoverage.com/2010/02/11/fact-check-redux-the-facts-about-health-plan-profits/#sthash.D8xc7Qit.dpuf

Profits: Analyzing the 14 health plan companies on the Fortune 500 list, the profit margin for these 14 companies averaged 3.58 percent for 2010 — for 2009 it was 3.18 percent for these same 14 companies. Four of the 14 companies actually saw a decline in their profit margin – averaging a decline of 79% in profit margin from 2009 to 2010. The top five insurers’ profits actually decreased 3.72 percent from 2009 to 2010 – from $12.2 billion to $11.7 billion. For the five largest health plans (determined by market cap), the average profit margin for 2010 is the second lowest from 2005-2010 – 2008 was the worst year. - 2010 – 4.9% (5th) - 2009 – 5.2% (4th) - 2008 – 3.2% (6th) - 2007 – 5.6% (2nd) - 2006 – 5.4% (3rd) - 2005 – 6.4% (1st) - See more at: http://www.ahipcoverage.com/2011/03/03/putting-health-plans-profits-in-perspective/#sthash.IysHDIVR.dpuf

HCAN = Obama chronies. The President lies to achive his goals so how am I to believe one of his major supporters of ACA? And while the Cato Institute is a libertarian think tank the satistics they provided are from CMS.gov. They alao provided links to CMS.gov.

Who is CMS.gov
The newly named federal agency, formerly the Health Care Financing Administration, that administers the Medicare, Medicaid and Child Health Insurance programs

From the ABC news article

The nation's five largest for-profit insurers closed 2009 with a combined profit of $12.2 billion, according to a report by the advocacy group Health Care for American Now (HCAN).

Who is HCAN

Health Care for America Now (HCAN) is a progressive political coalition of more than 1,000 organizations that joined together in 2008 in a successful effort to promote legislation to overhaul the United States health care system and extend medical benefits to most of the population that is currently uninsured. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA or ACA) was signed into law by President Barack Obama on March 23, 2010, and HCAN was credited with being a "major contributor" to its passage. After enactment of the law, HCAN shifted its activities to defending the law from opposition attacks and advocating for the law before Congress and federal and state regulatory agencies.
