I have been working on adding some pics of my Prowler to my POA profile. When I try to add the pic, I always get a message indicating that my picture is too large. Does anyone know how I would reduce the size of the pics that I am trying to upload? Obviously I am not that great with computers, so feel free to "PM" me with an explanation.

Thanks.

The easy way is to open it in paint. Paint comes with windows. Open the picture in paint and click on File at the top. Then click "save as" and give it any name with the file extension .jpg and notice what folder you put it in so you can find it. That will turn a 2mb picture into about 450kb, small enough to post. It will also give your new file a different name from the original one so you still have the hi-res picture. I just turned a 10.5mb .bmp file into 500kb that way. If that is still too large, you can still reduce it more. Click on Image at the top. Click on "Stretch/Skew". Leave skew alone. Stretch it horizontally and vertically to 80. (80 is arbitrary. any number under 100 will be smaller. Any number over 100 will be larger.) If that's still too big, or too small, you can click Edit at the top, then click "Undo" and start over with Image. When you're happy with it, click File and then click "save".

what OS are you using? In XP you just right click on the pic in "my pictures" and choose re-size from the drop down menu. Then choose small.

XP and I don't get that resize option. I assume "my pictures" is a folder where the picture is located.

If I right click on a picture I get a long menu, hit EDIT and then you can hit Resize and make it any size you want.
My computer is just over 2 years old.

I just tried it again on my grand daughters XP. I just right click on the thumbnail in my pictures file and I get a re-size option.

Thanks for all of the help. I do have XP as an operating system but as indicated by some of the other POA members, right clicking did not allow me to resize my pictures.
I did use the website provided by bjprowler and it was very helpful. I was able to successfully load resized versions of my pictures using the website which proves it actually "doesn't get much easier" even for a computer misfit like me (lol).

The BEST way is to install the Windows XP Tool to enable a right click to resize the image. Then you can right click any image and resize it to make it more posting and email friendly. You should never send full resolution images unless someone needs to make a print, so this is good courtesy.
