For those who have a broken secondary latch, I would strongly recommend buying a set from Art Stoner. When I had one break (at the dealership) two weeks ago, I was told to get a set from Art. After comparing his with OEM, I decided to install both sides. The difference between his & OEM are incredible! During the replacement process, I noticed both my "J" hooks were bent (breakage is not far away) & will need to replace those too. A major difference in the OEM & Art's is price. OEM is (brace yourself) $40 (USD). Art's are $12 ea.
1) The quality in his is incredible.
2) His service is "lightning fast"!
3) Printed instructions are easy to follow.
4) It's a great feeling to be able to repair something on
this car yourself & know it's done right.
5) Now that the Prowler is 10 years old, your can expect
Chrysler to make fewer parts available. This is a
superior product & it comes from one of us!
I just felt that a positive post is the right thing to do.

A big time thank you !

Thank you for the gracious comments but allow me to clarify-

The black plastic secondary latches I stock are from Chrysler. I am able to buy these through a relative
and I have sold them at a very very low markup. I had heard recent prices on these at over $30 EACH, this is the first time I have heard $40.00. I do not know the future of this part. I try to have 20-30 on hand to assist guys buying the JHOOKS. My cost has gone up over 1.00 each with no change in my price. I have hesitated to raise the price because the part looks like it should cost .50! The reality is that I need to raise the price if I order more.
I will sell the ones I have now at the current price and I will,of course, honor arrangements made in Detroit. Please expect the price to go to $13.50 EACH at some point in the near future.
