I just received a plaque honoring my wife who died of cancer last year. I am speechless. Marge did not get to go on any yearly events because we had just joined the previous year. She did not meet a lot of you but the one's she did she truly enjoyed talking to. I wish we would have bought our prowler years ago and found this site. I have never in my life knew of such a caring family as I have found in the prowler group. Every day seems to get a little better and maybe someday I will enjoy my prowler again. Wild Bill thank you for the plaque from the bottom of my and Marges heart.

Hi Frank...It's good to see you posting again and yes, Prowler folks are about as good as they get........ It sounds like Marge was a wonderful gal and apparently the two of you had a great marriage........ I can understand better than most the loss you are feeling as I too lost my wife of 36 years to cancer in 2002...... Her name was Sue.....

I was inspired to reply because of your comment about enjoying your Prowler once again......I've not told many the following story, but I swear it's true.......

Sue and I had always shared a love of cars and over the years had owned some great ones.... But raising a family always came first and so the Mustangs and GTO's were replaced with four door sedans and mini-vans as kids, and then grandkids, came along..

About two years after Sue died I began to feel a little better and ready to socialize again and so I made the decision to buy a Prowler and get on with my life.....(It's amazing what that car can do to renew your spirit and enthusiasm for life).

I found a 1999 Purple with 1,640 miles on it and it was love at first sight.....The day that I picked it up I drove straight home, parked it in the driveway, and drooled over it for what must have been hours....I think most Prowler owners will always remember "the day we brought it home".......I was in heaven....

I finally decided to pull it in the garage...... I then got out to take one more admiring look at it from the driveway......As I was standing there looking at it from behind I began to think of Sue, the fun we could have had, and how much she would have loved it too....I remember thinking to myself how she would have been grinning from "ear to ear" (as I was)....

At that very moment, (and I swear this is true) a white dove flew into the garage and perched on the brake light on the trunk lid.......It sat there perfectly still and looked directly at me for what seemed like about five minutes before flying off........

I took that as a sign from Sue that yes, she approved, and yes, it was time to get on with living again......

I made a couple of perfect decisions in my life,.....The first was when I married Sue and the other was buying my Prowler.....I've never regretted either....Sounds like you've been blessed too.....Keep in touch with your Prowler friends and don't forget that the road (and the telephone lines) run both ways.....

BJ,
I loved your story. I haven't seen my white dove yet that's why my prowler stays in the garage most of the time. Thank's for all your responses. I really didn't post this for you to feel sorry for me, it was to thank Wild Bill for the plaque.
