Just got my '02 Candy Red Prowler. I don't have to tell anyone how stoked I am. Looking at it, I'd say chrome bumpers would really dress it up plus give it more of a hot rod look. I've checked all the add-ons but surprised that I can't find something like a polished stainless cover for front and back. Does anyone know of a supplier or a reason why they aren't available? |

Ask Bob at Real Rod to make you a set of those chrome bumpers shown above.. They are wild, what a custom touch. Almost like the retro Vette look. They look fantastic with my black, will look good with any color. It may take a while ,and they aint cheap, but what the heck! Totally worth it! ------------------ |

H2O LuvR - First, WELCOME to the POA,,,glad you found us! I believe the design engineers figured out that many of us would remove the federal required bumpers after buying the car,,,thus not too many options out there. Real Rod's look good. ENJOY THE RIDE ------------------ Call 911 - there is a Prowler in my garage.... |

I like the real rod bumpers. And, all the other chrom parts the dpena prowler. Chrom rear end, wow!! fits nice to the bumper and the chrom front axles, anyway !!! The Chrom Bumpers give the Prowler a more Hot Rod look. I stay for this year with my chrome org. briz-bumper, custom made for the prowler ( under $ 300/pair & 34 Ford bumper brakets for mounting). Briz built this bumper style since early rod & custom days. I like the chrom grill by Gary. Maybe my next option. This message has been edited by condor on 03-03-2006 at 03:49 PM |

As I said originally, I'm a NEWBIE to this group -- and I appreciate your warm welcome. I want to thank all the many responders for your help. Definitely the chrome bumpers from Real Rod are the best -- but man, they're expensive. We need some competition here folks! I want to thank 01Prowler (sounds like an Academy acceptance speech!) for being the first to respond and include that great photo of SLEEKTYs ride with the chrome bumpers. And Pumpkin Prowler for their great website with all the how-to stuff. They're an inspiration. I've been bitten and I can see I'll have to pay for my addiction! I LOVE THIS CAR! |

You have been biten, and you will have to pay. But the pay back you get from this car and this club will be well worth it. You can see that already. Oh yeah, those chrome bumpers from Reak Rod are a bit pricey, but they are unbelievable looking, IMO. Can't wait to show them off this spring. ------------------ |

I have to say that the chrome really sets off the Kats. Although I think I like the look of the "Five rib" Briz bumper. Plus the price is outstanding! Condor, in your post you wrote "34" mounting brackets. Did you swap the brackets yourself? If so, what's the procedure. Any mods required is what I'm asking. I have a Woodward and anything I do to it has to be reversible with no cutting involved. (The down side of owning a Woodward or Blacktie.) Thanks in advance. |

I got the Briz Bumper from RB Obsolete Auto Parts . They talked to Briz-Bumper Companie, who custom made them. ( They were $ 100 more than basic Briz Bumpers.) The brackets are from my 1934 Ford.( rear bumper brackets) I had a set from CW-Moss, Orange ,CA left over. I saw before a Prowler at the Auto Toy Store ? in FT Lauderdale, who had also the Briz Bumpers on, mounted on 33/34 Ford brackets. I cut both side of the brackets and welded them straigh on again. (... placed them in the right angel , to fit the BrizBumpers on the Prowler). Its a easy operation. I tooked the finished bracket for a chrom job. ($ 50.-) I needed 4 BrizBumper bolts/scews (chrom) and I had to drill 2 holes in each bumper. I mounted the Briz Bumper set to the org. prowler bumper holes. ( They are off in 5 minutes..)
