I was contacted by penn state to put the kat in the homecoming parade and have a local celebrity ride in the car. I am assuming that the only way for someone to be displayed is to rest on the edge of the deck lid???? I guess I am wondering if anyone has tried this and what are the chances of bending or breaking the deck lid? I can't think of any other way for someone to ride in the car and be prominently displayed. Any suggestions? Maybe I need to haul the local "dairy queen" if she is under 100lbs. lol

I was in the Christmas parade last year, I had 2 girls around 9 years old on the deck lid. I put a heavy folded towel down for them to sit on so they would not scratch it

If you push the passenger seat all the way forward and put the seat back upright, there is room behind the seat for a person to actually stand on the floor behind the seat. They can hang on to the top of the seat and lean against the car without being on the deck lid.

Found this in the search topic. What ever make sure they hold on if they are sitting on the deck lid. A sudden stop

Had a high-school homecoming queen and her escort (male) last fall sitting on the edge of the deck lid. Folded up a towel for them to sit on. Total weight was about 300 lbs. She - 100, He - 200. Had to clear that up. No damage to the deck lid. Queen , short skirt. Rear view mirror. OOOPS!! Adjust mirror away, discreatly. Eyes left. Seriously. No prob.

Here's a post I did some time ago.......

quote:
Once I had the Mayor of Pontiac in my car for a parade. He was about 6'5". He took off his shoes and braced one foot on the floor, one on the passenger seat and just leaned against the seat.

For smaller people, (and I am 5' and tried this in my own car)........if you push the passenger seat all the way forward, I could stand on the floor behind the seat and just hung on to the headrest!
