Thank you to everyone for the kind words and a special thank you to the many people that helped me make the Worlds Fastest Prowler possible! Judy and I had a blast at No Problem Raceway and we really enjoyed Laddie's hospitality. We got back late last night and slept in today. It was really a great thrill to set the new record on my very first run with the blue stroker. We have lots of pictures to go through and will be posting them later including videos. Here are a couple of shots that were taken by the No Problem track photographer. Heating up the M/T slicks: The launch... Check out the nose and the front A arms... I think I came pretty close to pulling a wheelie! Here's the time slip on my record setting run: A special thankyou goes out to Norm Brandes at Westech Automotive in Wisconsin for doing a fantastic job on my engine! |

Mike - the pic of the launch is great. I love the way the photographer caught the slicks "crinkled" at the start! Congratulations on some great runs again! Do you think the weight of the hardtop slowed you down some? Did you remove the soft top completely? I also noticed you removed the front fenders again. Guess I better tell Norm he needs to come up with something better for me. ------------------ |

quote:John, you described it right... I hooked up real good after heating them up! The tranny held up just fine with the slicks... Ran thru 1st and second in auto and pulled back into autostick when I hit third. Went thru the traps at slightly over 7000 RPM's.

quote: Marty, I don't really know if the hardtop helped or hindered me. My main reason for putting them on was that I felt a little safer. The soft top was still folded in the trunk. I was going to remove them but ran out of time Saturday morning. Removing the front fenders and other speed tips came from Gary C.

Hey Mike, Don't print the Cover image I did... I got a better one in the works. I like it much better than the one I did. I did that one while I was waiting for a meeting. I now have quality time with the new one. Coming up!!! Later... |

Thanks for keeping the faith, JD. I can't believe Tami Fay did not make a comment. You missed a very funny line at Cruisin the Coast in 2002. I told Laddie I got stopped for speeding and he said, "It had to be in a school zone". We are still laughing at that one. |
