As many of you have been following, here is the details from my head on total wreck. My car was not at fault but I went thru my insurance company (Progressive) anyway and then they will collect back from the one at fault (Geico). The reason I did not go to Geico was the frame was bent and my dealer had a similar situation with Geico and they were refusing to replace and were insisting upon straigtening. I did not want a fight with a company I did not pay. Progessive accepted the need to replace without question and because of this the costs involved became so great they totaled the car. The wreck was 3 weeks ago and tomorrow my new Prowler will be delivered. I found the new, not titled 2002 Inca Gold in Milwaukee from Kat Dreamer on the discussion board. I live in Florida. My wrecked car had 12,000 miles and my new car has 129 miles. The dealer that sold me the car was selling his dealership and has since sold his dealership so I got the new car at a great price. The insurance gave me $39,795 which included the taxes I would need to replace. The actual car was figured at $37,500.00 and they got this from the NADA. I did not fight this and could have because as you will see all ended well. My new car cost $34,500, transport $1,028 and taxes, tag was $2,100 for a total of $37,628. That leaves me with a net of $2,167. Neither me nor my daughter were hurt in any way and I now have a brand new cat with a new warranty and some extra cash to buy some accessories. I like the car so much I got the exact same one and same color. All ended quite well.

Glad to see an owner come out on top financially for once. Let us know when the new Kat arrives. FYI, the building that housed the dealership that you bought the Kat from is completely empty. Took about 2 days. I'm sure they told you the new owner relocated just a block or 2 away from the former location. I'm sure they gave you all of the new contact info, but just in case they didn't and you have any questions, let me know. I can stop in and get it for you. |
