Ok, my Mulholland now has 6200 on her, I am going to get another one. Found great deal on a new black 1999 and a new 2002(1) Orange. Assuming these things increase in value, down the road. Which should be worth more, a 1999 black or a 2001 Mulholland or a New Orange. Obviously I am keeping my Mulholland til I die, and can not decide if I want another Chrysler or would the original Plymouth badge have some significance for my grand kids in 30 years when they poor the dirt in on top of me in my Mully? Seriously, which do you think has a better chance if any of keeping or increasing in value. Thanks gang. ------------------ |

Jerry - actually I believe they made less Chrysler Prowlers when compared to quantity of Plymouths so who knows which will be the preferred car in the future. Unless you are buying a Woodward or Black Tie (maybe Candy Red) limited runs, I don't believe there will be a lot of difference in KATS with similar miles and in like condition. If you like the Mulholland so much why not keep enjoying it and use it as your driver, and keep your next one - Orange or Black - for special occasions and the grandkids. I have a black and am obviously partial to them, but since you already have a dark car, the Orange would be a nice contrast change, plus the metallic paint really sparkles in the sun!! As much as I dislike INCA GOLD, I'm going to have to say that in the future it may well be worth a little more than others, just because of the limited number of them... Not like Candy Red, but there isn't too many Golds running around either...... Anyone else think of this too????? Ron Oh out of the colors you listed I think your Mulholland will hold value over the others.... This message has been edited by 01Prowler on 06-20-2002 at 11:48 AM |

Kinda like asking a guy back in '63 if he wanted to fore go the rear trunk space in a Corvette coupe for a larger gas tank for long raod trips. Those that opted for the more luggage room have a car that is roughly $50k less then the other ... who knew! Personally, despite the less numbers of Chryslers ... Plymouth was what delivered the Prowler, Plymouth badge was dropped ... dunno ... And colors WILL make a difference to the buyer in 10 years. Red Vettes sell easier, faster and usually for more money than say green, blue or orange. Buy waht you like ... and if your crystal ball should say one thing over another, clue me in on the upcoming Power Ball numbers too then, will ya? Good luck! (ps ... saw and orange in the sun last Sunday ... looked way cool) |

No way to tell what will happen in 30 years, or even if these will be worth anything. 30 year old cars that bring money do so because of Nostalgia. How many 10-20 years are "dying" to own a Prowler today? ------------------ |

The Prowler was the official last Plymouth made!!! They decided to go out in style. 1999 is when they did make many improvements from the original 1997. 2000 is when they started with the chrome bezel & you had the chrome wheels. I think they stopped using KONI shocks shortly after as well as changing other items in the engine. If you are looking for limited runs... in the 2001 Model Year, they made ONE black Chrysler... How many Grandkids do you have??? You might have to buy more than one When I buy art, I always follow a simple rule that can even apply now when there is uncertainty... When I look at works of an aspiring painter or a sculptor, and concerned if he/she will eventually be famous enough for me to receive gains on my purchase... I buy what I like... So that if it doesn't pan out, I am not ashamed to hang it on my wall for display, instead of hiding it in the closet somewhere because it is ugly... Of course any Prowler is a work of art loved by any critic... Even Vette owners... Sorry if I confused you even more... This message has been edited by WildBill on 06-20-2002 at 01:27 PM |

I have no grand kids yet, two boys 3 and 6! I always wanted a black but I would like newer model with the upgrades but, lots of guys like there 99's so. If the price is right I will have to do the Black as it was my first choice anyway. I think, or do I want the orange because it is cool and was limited, or do I want a Gold because it is so ugly(sorry) that some day it might be like the ugly greens they made in the sixtys that people are dying for now. Or maybe.......... DAMN! I need a gargage like mikes and a check book like his as well! ------------------ |

My only additional comment is I too was not thrilled with the looks of the Gold I saw on the internet. Once I saw one in person in the sunlight, I changed my mind. To each his own, as they say. Have fun deciding which one you are going to get. Marty ------------------ Driving my Dream This message has been edited by Marty Usher on 06-20-2002 at 03:22 PM |

Jerry buy the 2001 Orange Plymouth...They only made 664 or something around that number and Orange was the last color run of the Plymouth Prowler. Also the 2001 has the nice temp/compass/fuel deal in the mirror...Nice upgrade in my opinion. Alex ------------------ |

What is up with you people bashing Gold? I haven't even taken delivery yet and already I have a complex! All joking aside, follow your gut instinct. That way you'll be happy, regardless of what others think, or which colors seem to be worth more or less. My opinion only, Kevin ------------------ |

OK, 2cents worth... The Plymouth was around a long time and then discontinued. When the brand disappeared I'd think that would make the Plymouth badge Prowlers worth a bit more as they were the end of a car line. The Chrysler Prowlers are just a discontinued present line car??? Just my thoughts and not based on owning a "Plymouth" Prowler, the original... Jerry, thanks a lot!! Now I'm out looking for a Sparkle Orange! I really didn't need another payment but I have to keep up with the McDaniel's.... Found 4 new ones in Texas. ------------------ |
