Anyone know any DC tech people. I really want to discuss this whole tranny fluid thing. I have heard so many different opinions. Some say not to mess with it because it is a very stuburon tranny that does not adjust well to change. Others say that the REDLINE fluid especially made for chrysler trannys will help it tremendously.

UGHHHHHH.

So if someone can give me some numbers or talk to them yourslef I would appreciate the help.

Snapcase: Check out the last person to answer your question on the idle adjustment - "Neal". He is a certified tech and one of the best in the DFW area. I'm sure Neal will help you out - just send him an e-mail. Tami

According to Service bulletin 21-06-01, ATF+4 (type 9602) should only be used.

I recently took in my Prowler for service and if you look at the link below. You will see the columns that applied to me highlighted in yellow.

I had a laundry list for them.

I want to thank the POA for this list. I could have not done this with out it. The dealer was not even aware of all these bulletins.

my dealer just typed in the VIN and said everything is ok over the phone. But i dont believe him. Half the problems listed i have noticed. but i dont think i an get them fixed since im a third owner. Its got 33K on it though so maybe i should hurry up and bring it to them personally.

From everything I've read stay with Mopar's own ATF +4 in the 42LE, skipping synthetics and running from Dextron. Here's one 3rd party opinion on the merit of staying with Mopar's own:
http://www.allpar.com/fix/trans.html

If you're prone to turning high rpms or otherwise driving under load the only advisable additive is Mopar's own anti-foaming agent, available in 1 oz. bottles for $3.05 each, P/N 4549637, suggested dose is 2 oz (no more):
