Alex, what goes up also goes down, right now were in the coming down phase. Expect this to last another 3-8 years before it goes up. Marty... while I don't plan on selling any... sometimes life changes and we have to. I did not plan on selling my antique motorcycle collection either. ------------------ |

I loved mine and it really was hard to sell it, but after i recently did, I hadnt really thought twice about it. It is , as another guy here who sold his said " it's just stuff".. Was my favorite car I have ever owned and i was more proud of having it than any other car but in the end...it's just a car. A real sweet bright ass yellow attention getting car, but just a car.... Down the road I dont even think I would invest in another prowler. Feel like I would never get one as nice as mine was so why bother. Nic is going to take good care of mine so its in good hands. Enjoy DES |

I've had the silver AlleyCat Prowler for 13 years now, but its time to let it go in the near future. Lethia has had her orange for 9 years, and we'll probably keep that one for cruising, car shows, events, and vacations. Time to downsize,,,and spend more time on the water...I could actually live on a house boat at Lake Powell, and finally feel fully relaxed during retirement I've had my 90K miles of smiles, combining the cars. |

concidering this is a 10 year old thread, very interesting we have many that said they would keep them forever, including the originator of the thread, who sold his many years ago, but with 150,000 miles and something like 3 motors maybe it was time we have one for sure that has passed several that have sold theirs, some have bought another even though they don't have the one they had at the time of original post but there are many that might still have their car but no longer post I'm glad to have had my car for 14 years on july 15th and for the help and friendship made from POA hopefully in another 10 years this post can come up again and we will have some newbies from now post they have had their cars for 10 years, and some maybe 24, who knows it could happen and maybe by them Marty will have another Prowler ------------------ |

Have had mine for almost 14 years now! It was built 14 years ago this month ... happy birthday to my yellow '99 (July '98 built car). But as Cameron said ... life does change, and with it .. so go the cars - if needed, but we hope not. |

Though it would be interesting to bring this thread back, since it was ten years ago yesterday that I registered on the site. Sure has been fun, and met a lot of great people along the way. Here's looking at ten more! |

I've had one of my Corvairs for over 30 years and another for almost 20, so keeping the Prowler for 10 years is a sure thing. It's a better and much more exciting car. |

My wife gets attached to all our cars. I told her we need to drive one and wear it out so we could get rid of one and she looked at me with a hurt feeling. She has her dad's 60 Buick that he bought new when she was twelve, his last car was an 89 Town Car, her 83 Buick Rivera convertible her ex gave her and several more. I don't get attached like she does but I still have my 47 flat head ford from high school and she is in love with the Prowler. It's a KEEPER! |

We have never had a car that was such a great pleasure to drive or ride in. It will take more than 10 years for someone to come up with another car to compare with it, so we will surly have ours if we are still here. Our Son said that he will drop a hemi in it if he gets it and put it with his 73 Dodge Charger and our Sob-in-Law said that he will keep it the same as it is if he gets it. If we have our way it will be wore out by that time. LOVE THAT KAT. |

Well - I started this thread 10 years ago and sadly, my Prowler is gone - I pretty much wore it out but had a blast beating the !% out it for 5 1/2 years. I wish I had been able to keep it. I do miss driving it every day! |

Interesting to go back to Marty's original post in 2002 to follow the history of the responses. There are some from folks who are no longer with us, who no longer have their Prowler, others who have added a half dozen cars to their stable and many others who have wandered off. Nice to see posts in 02 from people who still actively post still today. |

I think it is interesting that folks keep cars for years, but never drive them. Marty wore his out. Who had more fun, Marty driving the heck out of it of a guy who says he misses his but never drove it? What good is a 15 year old car with 2000 miles on it? You like to look at it or brag you have it? Drive the darn thing and enjoy it. |

If I could get a V8 AND a 5 or 6 speed manual tranny in a Prowler for the same or less than a 2003-2006 Viper I'd be looking to get an other Prowler and wear that one out too! For me, no can made in the last 50 years is as cool as a Prowler in styling! |

Yeah, but if you got a V8 and a 5 or 6 speed you would wear it out in a year. lol |

Next year will be 10 years. No plan on selling it. I do need another car for the winter and on rainy days. Went to look at a Cadillac CTS4 and ended up trading in my daughters 2007 Saturn Sky for a Cadillac SRX for her. |
