In 98 I wanted to buy a Prowler but because of availabilty and price gouging I didn't, so I waited and waited and....... waited. In December of 01 I finally bought the kind of car I had dreamed about (Hot Rod) since I was teen in the early 60's, it was a great day when I finally brought home my new 02 yellow Kat. Al |

'98 just drooling and dreaming over the Prowlers. In 2000 my wife was the first to see a silver in the show room and told me about it. I found out then (from the salesman) that production was going to stop that year and they were not going to make any more silvers (because there was a problem with the paint and they were too difficult to paint) so I paid $50K (they were asking 55K) and found that the car is was worth a lot more that 50K. If a salesman really understood the Prowlers he could have explained that compared to other "exotics" the Prowler is one of the best bargains out there, even for those of us who paid over sticker. Chromer...You are right, things change. At least we have all purchased our cars from the REAL Chrysler Corp. It won't be too long from now that Daimler's influence regarding next generation of cars will soon take place. I for one am not looking forward to seeing more products that will be built overseas or have Mitsubishi(spelling) involved. Especially their engines. I don't know how anyone else feels but as far as I'm concerned I'm not buying any Chrysler product that's not built or designed by Chrysler in the USA. If for the first time in my life I'm forced to look at other brands then so be it. |

My feelings also...if I wanted a foreign car, I would live in that country....sorry in advance if I offend anyone, but I was born in America, fought for America so we can have our freedom to buy non American cars...America is where I raised my family...America allowed me the opportunity to retire at 49 with plenty of toys...I have been in many other countries and lived in China for 18 mos, but NOTHING compares with the good old USA...I know components in my cars are probably from other countries, but the cars were all designed by Americans, built by Americans....5 of my cars were built in Detroit(Vipers and Prowlers) and one in Bowling Green Ky(Vette)....the closest I have ever been to owning a foreign car was a Chrysler Sebring conv...found out they were assembled in Mexico...sold it soon after that...I wanted a Crossfire until I saw where they were being made...I will look at the Chevy SSR instead.....I could not think about being in the Memorial Day Parades with a foreign car carrying the American flag...would you buy a car made in Iraq, or Afghanistan...how about a Yugo....sorry, I will only buy American cars and only American made cars are allowed to sit in my driveway...this has surprised a few guests in the past !!! ------------------ |
