NorCal - Reno Redux
2004-09-10
The event started in Jackson at the Best Western Hotel. This might be our last time we are able to stay there, but that's another story you'll have to ask Steve Faint, Harry Sands, and Kevin Watson about. Friday evening we had a nice Family Style Italian Dinner and bright and early Saturday Morning we made our way through gold country and over Ebbett's Pass a mere 8,714 feet above sea level, and stopping for lunch at the Genoa Lakes Golf Club after a challenging drive. Saturday night we stayed in Reno and some of us on Sunday morning bright and early headed out for the Balloon Festival that unfortunately was cancelled because of the wind. We did see the Dawn Patrol perform but they were on the ground. They looked good being on the ground and it would have been interesting to see them perform in the air. Guess we will have to wait until next year, all was not lost however we were able to capture a beautiful sunrise. Later Saturday Morning we headed over the National Automobile Museum to check up on our adopted car and to see any new exhibits. Around 11:00 on Sunday we headed back to Carson City and over the mountain passing Mount Rose and having lunch at Cal Neva which put out the Red Carpet for us. After lunch most of us headed back to Jackson on Highway 88 for some more great driving. After fueling in Jackson we said our good-bye's until the next time. Thanks Gary and Judy for planning another great weekend!
Well, needless to say when I walked into Jane and our room I thought it was still occupied with some really messy people.
No - it was just Steve, Harry, and Kevin having some fun. Well they cleaned up the mess and made the beds what else could we ask for?
Steve, Harry, and Kevin were at it again Saturday morning decorating Judy and Gary's car.
Here is another view of some of the cars.
Here is some of the group getting ready to leave?
Here we are at our Lunch stop, the Genoa Lakes Golf Club.
Sunday morning the Dawn Patrol was gounded but did there show anyway.
With the Baloon Festival called on account of wind the Sunrise was worth the trouble to get up.
