3rd Annual Big Easy Mopar Club Cajun Turkey Fry and Drunken Chicken cookout
2003-11-23
3rd Annual Big Easy Mopar Assn. Cajun Turkey Fry & Drunken Chicken cookout Thanks to Garrard & Julie for inviting us to their house and the hospitality for our 3rd Annual Cajun Turkey Fry & Drunken Chicken cookout for the Big Easy Mopar Assn. Club... The weather was perfect and it was an absolutely gorgeous south Louisiana Fall day. We had 8 fresh turkeys, 4 turkey breast and 16 chickens furnished by the club along with the beverages... In addition, members brought side dishes and desserts. And, some members brought ice chest along with more turkey fryers... We had a moderate turnout and members arrived throughout the afternoon and we had several young kids (who seem to be enjoying themselves)... I even saw several picking pecans around the yard... We had more food than we could possibly eat. Hopefully, everyone took some home. When the LSU game came on some of us moved inside to catch a glimpse of the game. Well, LSU finally won the game and our 3rd Annual Turkey fry was a winner too... Again, I want to thank Garrard & Julie for their hospitality and letting us use their house to host the event. And, thanks to all the members who attended and helped out make this another successful BEMA event... Here's some pics in my scrapbook...

Preparing Drunken Chicken. After seasoning and oiling the inside of chicken, you slide the chicken over a can of beer (can use soda can) filled about 1/2 way with beer & liquid shrimp/crab boil... Put this on grill and it steams the chicken from the inside...
